Important announcement regarding Cyberpunk 2077 release date

To the consumer? Nothing else but a tiny bit longer wait.

I "kinda" understand the outrage, but it's waaaaaaaay out of proportion. That "proportion" part is what makes me wonder about the actual sanity of gamers.

Some are blowing this out of proportion, but to paint all gamers in the same boat is a bit disingenuous. Many are disappointed, sure. But only a tiny fraction are sending threats. And the real frustration is not really about the delay in itself, but the broken promise that "there will be no more delays" and "full confirmation". Tell me what group doesn't feel bad about having a promise broken?

Again, I think that the delay is fine; I'm all for CDPR taking their time. But I also understand that people were super excited and felt like their hopes were dashed.

I guess I don't like how the whole community is being painted as a bunch of spoiled brats unfairly. Just my two cents!

I have no means of making any accurate dividation, so I have to generalize whilst knowing generalization does not mean "everyone".

Yes. And the outrage is still way out of proportion. It's a miscalculation based on determination, it is unfortunate, and discontent about it is righteous. But the personal level of it and the upbrought entitlement is... Outside my understanding considering that this is just a piece of entertainment.

And by the way, I am not one to defend these big studios, they well deserve some of the shit they get frome various aspects. But the thing that strikes me as weird is the entitled caveman attitude and the seeming lack of perspective of those disgruntled.

I dont get why people are getting as upset as some are about the delay of 3 weeks. I mean what does it really matter in end the game will just be that much better in the end as more bugs and glitches will be ironed out. it will run smoother and look crisper in graphics. CDPR is not EA after all they are not ones to bait and switch like with Anthem. does it suck that there 3 more weeks before can play yes but the end product will be more than worth the wait

People are piss they delayd game again when they told 100% they will not.
Ironed out bug??? still and with day one patch coming yeah sure CP2077 will be 100% bug free sure sure.
Is it just 3 more weeks? or they going to delayd again and say ops, we need more time still ironing bugs and polishing it bla bla.
How you know that end product will be more than worth the wait??? did you play it ? did you see more of game elements than we? so far game don't looking so ground breaking and new.

The reddit post tweeted by LegacyKillaHD in the link below is extremely concerning. First of all, is that reddit post actually from an anonymous CDPR dev? That's what people are saying and that the game should get delayed another 4-5 months to assure that it will be a masterpiece of a game and get a 90+ score on Metacritic.

Is Cyberpunk 2077 coming out too soon or is it on the right track for a December 10th release?

Im willing to take a buggy game over a delayed game at this point. For SOMETHING to shed a speck of light in the darkness that is 2020. Everything has been canceled or delayed delayed delayed. They can keep grinding it forever but at the end of the day, the line has to be drawn somewhere. Its going to sell like crazy no matter what shape it comes out in.

And then they keep fixing it and it will continue to sell. And they can make those free DLCs to apologize for whatever bugs there will be. It will NEVER ship in a bugless state, no game has ever done so.

Elder scrolls? oh we have a market on a platter and instead of employing a thousand koreans and adequate teams we'll let that float in the wind for a decade +.

It's probably because they first have to release the Ultimate Remastered Definitive Game of The Century Edition of Skyrim for next-gen consoles, Stadia and iWatch.

Let me make things very clear:

ANY ATTEMPT TO OPENLY THREATEN OR EVEN HINT AT THREATENING THE DEVELOPERS ON THESE FORUMS WILL RESULT IN:

1. INSTANT PERMABAN
2. ANY FURTHER FORMAL ACTION CDPR DECIDES TO TAKE AGAINST A USER WHO ISSUED SUCH THREATS

THERE'S 0-TOLERANCE POLICY ON THIS.

Oh...my...god. Gregski went RED. That's, like, a moderators final form! DBZ eat your heart out!

Seriously though, I expect vile threats from social media but here? I hope it's only new accounts :(

Remember TW3? Remember how long that took? Remember how many bugs there were in the original release version? Remember the extended patching process required to work out the issues in a game that huge...?

...

...remember how utterly awesome the game was as an experience? How all those delays came together to create an absolute masterpiece?

...

Same thing now. Let the creators create. Let the pie bake. Let the water come to a boil. Sometimes it just takes a little longer. Rushing leads directly to mistakes and disappointment. Pushing and shoving causes problems.

And someday (very soon, actually,) the game will be out, and everyone will be focusing on the next super-exciting thing they just can't wait another second for. Patience is a skill, not a talent.

My condolences CD Project Red,

I have little to say about such mindless tactics on sales which kill release dates.
Have you not learned from other developers making the same mistakes in the past?
It should be easy to not promise anything, and just tell consumers a simple release date will be given in the moment in which the game is actually gold status ( Version 1.0). Period!
Stop making stockholders make your design efforts out of love and art turn into a market profit making money machine with a dumb ass deadline!

"YOU ARE CDPROJECT RED! One of our last hopes of human mature gaming kind!!! :D"

Anyway, what's done is done. Apologies won't be enough. As people will mass withdraw their preordered game on steam and probably invest in another great title coming out real soon called Assassins' Creed: Valhalla.
That's what you get for being stupid and greedy.

I just simply buy both games though, Cyberpunk can wait.
But for the many gamers who actually took holiday so they could focus on the virtual world of Cyberpunk, this turns out to be a disaster. Being isolated in COVID 19 times, makes it even more unbearable for people who are unable to connect with others or go outside due to serious lockdowns. Peace be with us all in this dire time though.
"My thoughts are with you all, who had left their wife and kids and lost their jobs due to the crisis and where focused on forgetting their problems by stepping into night city and play Cyberpunk!:cry:"

Simply release the title on PC, XBOX X and PS5 on de date given 19 november 2020.
And receive the "FREE" ability as a dev of 3 weeks gameplay from thousands of dedicated gamers who "beta" test to the title and actually get some worthy feedback for a day 0 patch before releasing it on other lower end systems which consists of stability problems.

Question: "....Why in the hells would you even want to release it on those lower end systems anyway, Cyberpunk stands for high tech modernized Cyberpunk of 2020, instead of a low key adapted Bladerunner, Matrix, Shadowrun type of game from the 80's and 90's" ^.^

And it still has bugs. If it wasn't for the mod community's on the Nexus, Witcher 3 without enhanced Edition mod is probably a shadow of it's own creation. ^.^

Do you think that CDPR will address all of the issues with Cyberpunk 2077 over time through updates to make up for a really messy release and not scoring 90+ on Metacritic?

Why do you like Blue more then Green? Or any color for that matter of some other color?
Why is the grass greener at our neighbors lawn?

The question about why people are enslaved to gaming is as much of a question as in where drugs, alcohol and porn dominates people deeply into their shadow existence.

What matters more is being lied to and bought the Cyberpunk 2077 game title when they tell the consumers it's gone gold with a solid release date planned. NO EXEPTIONS!
Instead you see the game hasn't gone gold at all yet, even if they payed KEANO Reaves a large sum of money to advertise the title has gone GOLD. Awesome Ad though :p

You see......,
Greed doesn't pay of in the long end........neither does steroid and drugs make us winners nor sex makes us really ever love someone or alcohol makes us invincible.

Think about it :D

Poor guy, the whole world loves this actor and they make him lie, honestly I really pity him, what a picture now

I want to say, BIG props to the fantastic mods here. Great job eliminating the toxicity and hate while still giving plenty of room for people that are understandably upset to voice their full thoughts and feelings in a reasonable manner.

Very well balanced and quick responses. You guys are the real MVP's.

You know here it's not really the most important, social networks are another story, and this postponement has set them alight. Four postponement is too much. I don't know if you realize, that in my case, I sacrificed the purchase of new generation consoles, to offer myself in several times an RTX, exclusively for cyberpunk that I have been waiting for since 2013, when the date has been announced, the cooldown highlighted on the official site! I was confident. I speak for my case, but there are probably others who have made this same decision! The date would not have been planned and announced on November 19, I would have invested in the next gen, not in an RTX, unfortunately I can no longer afford to buy a next gen! Why did I choose an RTX? Cyberpunk was to be released at the same time as the next gen, at least for one, but it had been said that the game would not be optimized next gen right away for the release, but after, since I had been waiting for it for a long time, I didn't want to savor it. in minimal quality. I trusted them as a lot of my, that said, they can still make a right decision, the 19th is in 20 days. When passing the 21 day report, they also have to add the current 20 days, which gives us 41 days. The most logical solution would be to keep the date of November 19, for PCs and next gen, and to make the xbox 1 and ps4 1 wait until the 10th. Especially since most of them will be in the next generation for exhaustion. global pre-ordered consol stocks. When has the quality on xbox 1 and ps4 1 ... you have to be realistic, whatever they want to optimize, there will never be an equivalent with these platforms. So where is the real problem.

I "kinda" understand the outrage, but it's waaaaaaaay out of proportion. That "proportion" part is what makes me wonder about the actual sanity of gamers. Same goes with moviefandom (and sometimes even with books). I just do not understand where all the commitment is coming from... I've been disappointed and sometimes somewhat upset about things (the fate of Fallout for example; that CP turned out to be an action adventure to a lesser extent, but as a second example), but I would never even think about sending death threats or raging to the developer on a personal level.

Life doesn't revolve around a small bit of ones passtime entertainment. People should get a fucking grip on how the world works. Some people have reserved time off work to play a game. Why on earth would anyone do that before the game is out (or at all for that matter)? Don't do things like that for something you aren't sure will happen. I understand fandom and passion for something like this, but I do not understand the relentlessness and obsessiveness of it in certain cases.

The world is mad.

Some folks have to put the request in advance so employers can find people to cover the shift. At work I have the luxury to just peace when I need to - others do not. I actually completely understand the frustration.

This frenzy on social media is unwarranted, though. Before reading the announcement you would think it was delayed for 3 months. There's a fairly vocal (read: obnoxious) fan-base now conspiratorially stringing together every vaguely related clue to conclude that the game is going to suck......after concluding the game was in fact a pièce de résistance moments before the announcement.

Folks only have themselves to blame for getting worked up into such a manic state that a slight bump in the track is enough to derail the train entirely.

I wanted to say that after some thought, I will not cancel my pre-order. It's not that much money. However, I am expecting the game to be broken like Andro"my face is tired"meda.

What I really want is a better managed CDPR, a CDPR that doesn't whip its devs to make miracles happen and doesn't murder their free time in exchange for a payday, no matter how much it is. CDPR must become the ideal it presents itself as. I cannot accept that all game companies are slave masters.

There will have to be a reckoning at CDPR, they cannot possibly continue in this way, no amount of money can account for turning one's life into utter drudgery. I say this having gone through a week of constant work last week, it was terrible and I was wondering if I was going to die of a sudden heart attack. How does the project manager justify this to himself? Does he sleep well at night?

All complaints aside: CDPR cannot go on like this anymore. CDPR must reform. Fire the project manager and give their employees their lives.
