My user name is still not fixed. I contacted support as above and was even given a ticket number. It shows as closed and I still have the wrong screen name..... Now what?

Two things - have you checked at GOG to see if it's changed there, and try logging out and back in again here.
Changes need to "ripple through" to these forums, and may not take effect until you've logged out/on.

Thanks, DB. I tried that. DIdn't work. My concern is that the ticket has been closed without fixing anything. I sent them an email with my concerns. We will see if they respond.

Sure.
You're logged in on forums, but not on the black bar at the very top of the page (which is called by us "unibar"). After the update we've logged off every user on the unibar, but you're still logged in on forums (forum keeps the session). That's "normal", I mean, we knew about it. If you're able to login in via GOG form, do it as usual. If you're not, please describe your problem.

Thanks.

Thank you for your help! It seems to be just the unibar, that has me logged of. Everything else works as usual (posting and viewing my account through @Dragonbird s link). Sadly when I try to log in, it tells me, my password is wrong (works in gog.com though) and when I go on forgot password and enter my e-mail address and confirm, nothing happens. Also half of the time I can not click on anything on the login screen and have to click somewhere else and open it again. (On gog.com login works fine with the same credentials and not clicking problem either. Just as a reminder, since you probably have plenty of people you need to help: I did not have a gog.com account before, only the one for the forum.)
Also since the mainenance for the merge, I cannot go onto the "The Witcher Series" main page of the forum anymore. When I do I always get the mainenance screen. Currently I am visiting the subforums through direct links saved in my browsers history.

Up.

Like I said and as @Mataresa reports I still am logged in but not on the "unibar"[...]
Tried what @Dragonbird said, unfortunately it didn't help.

Didn't work for me either sadly.

@Eri94 Haha, I am stupid. I thought I had done that. Yes, main page works now again. :)
Firefox 36.0.1 (Tried restarting, cleared cache, deactivated addons. Haven't yet deleted cookies...)

Off topic but the witcher 3 forum is offline to me for quite a while now. It says it's under a scheduled maintenance, and my username just got a .605 all of a sudden.

Is it normal doc?

Well, you're here somehow :)
Regarding the 'Scheduled Maintenance" screens, hit Ctrl-F5 or whatever the option is in your browser for a hard refresh. That should fix it.
Regarding the .605, this is because of the GOG merge - see this thread:

If you didn't have an account with gog before, that means that somebody on gog was already using the username Rpac, i.e. it was already taken there, thus the numbers. You'd probably have to change it to something that isn't Rpac.

Just an update, in case someone has encountered my same problem with the merging, or will do in the future:

The merging didn't seem to work at all for me. After the merging I found my GOG account as it was freshly created and my games library empty. GoG support came swiftly and polite, they simply separated my REDForum\GOG account back, as it is impossible to merge the two. The problem happened possibly because I used two separates emails\pw for each account (not sure about this, my case seems to be an exception).

After GOG support help, I could access again to my old GOG account and got back my games library, but unfortunately I've been kicked out for days from this forum. I couldn't login, I couldn't reset the password, I couldn't even create a new account. This happened on Chrome, Firefox and Explorer.
After many attempts (cleared cache and cookies many times, disabled extentions, disabled Javascript, updated the internet browsers...) today I've found a solution by myself by adding an exception for third parties cookies and Javascript for the forum website only. This made the trick and now I can login again to the forum. It worked on all the 3 internet browsers I tried.
So in case someone has problem, do the same as I did or contact me via PM and I'll explain how to do.

On a side note, I'd rather this annoyance never happened. I mean, perhaps merging wasn't so necessary, or I'd rather to know "before" finding my games library empty. We were adviced to merge the two accounts as it seems a better solution, and I gave my consent in support of both GOG and RED. It should have been a minor issue, but it causes more problems than advantage (at least for me) and I don't see the reason.

Yeah, it may be makes sense for CDPR, but for us? One is a buyer's account, another one is a purely hobbyist forum. Good thing is that as long as we use two different e-mail addresses, we can keep them separate.

I was logged out and could not log in anymore. Finally managed to log in again into the forums.

For everyone who cannot log in, nor request new password, nor create a new account since the dedicated window seems broken, the issue is cookies-related
and I came up with this solution in Internet Explorer 11:
Simply go into settings -> privacy -> move the slider to LOW. That's as simple. Making an exception did not work for me.

Special thanks to @secondchildren.649 for her advices, since I knew where to look thanks to you.

Finally, I have to say I am as happy with GOG support (and even in Facebook I was contacted swiftly) as I am disappointed from the support in the forums, which was non-existant in my case even if I forwarded more then one time my problem ad who followed this thread know. If I didn't manage to solve the issue myself and secondchildren didn't write anything here, I would have been out for good. Don't know the reasons behind this merging, but regardless, it obviously brought all kinds of problems.. we arrived to the moment it would be advisable to have them solved.

I suggest the mods to confront the administrators and make a sticky wich could possibly help who is still suffering issues.. because I don't think I was the only one left with them. Thanks

The problem is that whatever was/is happening in your case is from GOG, so all that anyone on this side can do is direct you there, however much we want to help.

We'll continue to give whatever help we can, and some problems can be fixed by the CDPR admins, but not that one.

I'm glad that particular IE solution worked for you, but I don't think it's something we'd give as a general recommendation, as the default slider position is higher than low for security/privacy reasons. I suggest you also keep an eye open here or at GOG to see if there's a permanent solution posted that would let you reset the slider.

Don't think that my problem is GOG related, on GOG.com the same window is perfect even with old cookie settings. Merging process itself (in my case) was fine. In addiction, GOG support redirected me here saying they can't do anything for the forums. Of course someone, be it CDPR admins or GOG support, must be able to do something.

I know you cannot sticky my solution, didn't mean that, didn't mean to accuse you personally as well since I do believe these issues and solving them are not your responsibility. Of course someone does what he can to help and I really appreciate your efforts. :)
However something is definitely not working as intended and it had to be reported and taken care of by someone who has the means in order to grant a good experience to everyone who wants to join/live the community.

But I didn't want my nickname on GOG to be the global one. :(

And that is why I did NOT like the merge :( fortunately I saw it in time and manged to get a good replacement user name for the forum. Gog's one stays where it belongs, not here.

Thank you, that problem made me scratch my head for days in fact :)

As my friend @Dragonbird said that privacy issue on IE 11 is serious matter and it's poorly cared by Microsoft. I suggest you not to use Explorer for navigation now that you have lowed down the privacy settings, try Chrome or Firefox or whatever browser you like, instead they all provide a selective privacy settings for each website you visit. For example on Chrome, third parties cookies exception works very well.

I'm well aware of that. In fact, I switched to Chrome because it works well with the forum without any need for exceptions.
Thank you :)
