The merge will happen on March 9th, at the moment you just accepted the upcoming merge, nothing more. Changes to username and password will happen on March 9th.

Ohh, missed that detail. I had understood that we had until 9th to do it, and once done it was 'done' at the moment.

I always reach the forum by the W3 subforum directly from job and phone. Funny thing is that at home I reach it by the main root and I saw the announcement today. And I also think I should have read that email from the forum rules I got and that I deleted yesterday thinking it was the same blah blah from the gog one....

Hello,

I have a question:

Which account will be the new common account on GOG an here with CDPR-Forums after the account merge?

This is important for me, since my account on GOG has several games and is rather safe, with a long password. The account here has only a shorter password. I would prefer to use the GOG-account - but I could not find out which account will persist!

So - which account will be used for both sites, GOG an CDPR after the merge? (I did postpone the merge to ask this question)

My understanding is, the GOG account will be the surviving account. Their intent is to use the superior account infrastructure of the GOG servers.

So, was there any clarification if using two GOG accounts at the same time (one for GOG and one for the forum here) will be possible in a single browser session? I'd expect it to be a mess unless sites will handle cookies accordingly.

I think you need separate cookie stores. For example, Firefox stores cookies in your profile, and you can have separate profiles with different cookies. Then you run two instances of Firefox and select different profiles for each.

But I don't think a single browser instance will do what you want.

Yeah, that would do as a workaround, but it's far from ideal. Some services manage cookies more flexibly (for example Google lets you using several accounts at the same time). It's doable.

Yes, you would have to contact gog support for that.

In that case, one should automatically be created for you post-merge.

I'm terrified as of what will happen on March 9th. I have two profiles on this forum (for the life of me I can't remember when or how I created the second one. I probably tried to log in with a different email address by mistake when the forum got upgraded and it generated a new account) under two different e-mail addresses and I wanna keep the one that has all my GOG games. It uses yayodeanno as the user name but a different e-mail than the one I'm using on here. My other forum profile which I'm not using at all uses the e-mail address linked to my GOG account... Is there a simple way to unsubscribe permanently from this forum? It would be the easiest way to get rid of one account.

I've had to miss something because With the merging my profile of wichat has lost every friens list, #posts, achievements... but on the other side I'm here writing with wichat.571 who keep all the previous pack of ecperience... Who Do I must to talk about that?

You need to contact GOG support to change your username.
