I guess having an unoriginal nickname I recycle has finally paid off

Well the merging ate all my gog library it seems, so it's just not a matter of nick and numbers for me
I'm so happy (no I'm not... I want my games back )

That really sucks. I assume you've already submitted a ticket at GOG? I hope it get's resolved quick.

Well, it had me worried a bit. I couldn't sign in with my old info from this forum, and so I was forced to create a second GOG account, with my gaming forums email (yeah, I keep my financial stuff and my social stuff separate, thank you very much). My previous name was too long, so I made a new one. I expected to loose all my info, but, lookie there, it's all here! Still a young witcher though.

The problem is that GOG think that user Gilrond already existed on GOG (it wasn't supposed to).

See, you need to contact GOG in this case.

Maybe later you'd let me delete the number.

I doubt you'll be able to recover "wichat" nick if you're not it's owner on GOG.

Oh, okay. Then wichat needs to delete one GOG account (or merge them, I don't know anything about it - ask GOG support and be careful with nicknames), select primary forum account and let me do the job.

Please be careful with nicknames on GOG. Let me explain this:

1. If you wan't to have no-numbers-nick (wichat), delete the GOG account with numbers (whichat.XXX) and let me merge two forum accounts (wichat <= wichat.XXX) into one (wichat) and connect it with your GOG account (wichat).

2. If you you have lots of games on wichat.XXX, then delete whichat GOG account, let me merge your forum accounts and in the meantime change your GOG username (if you wan't to and/or GOG cannot merge two accounts).

The second situation shouldn't exist (since wichat.XXX acount is new, so you will not have lots of games on it, correct?), but just to clarify situation I wrote about it.

OK. Let me to put clear each step.

Before official merge:

GOG -> Wichat--aaaaaaaaaaa@ppppp --- lot of games
TWF ->Wichat -- 22222222222@77777 --- senior profile (friends, posts, achievements...)

After official merge:

GOG -> Wichat--aaaaaaaaaaa@ppppp --- lot of games
TWF ->Wichat,571 -- 22222222222@77777 --- senior profile (friends, posts, achievements...)

Solution:

Delete one of the account but if I delete GOG one I keep the nick lose the game, if I delete TWF one I lose my forum history and identity. So.... , remaining in GOG site, following there your #2 step will be the right one, won't be? I wanna be sure before deleting nothing

You can always contact GOG support for a name change request.

Go to "Problems with website and user accounts" and on the next page select "username (nickname) change" under "Problem type".

Write in about your situation and desired username and GOG should get back to you shortly.

FYI: My user name changed correctly guys. And I wanna be positive that my gog account with the games is fine, won't try it until weekend at home. And I guess I have two forum users now but under no reasons I'll log here in the forum with that gog account's email..... *sigh*

@Eri94 Any idea, why I can still post under my account name, but it doesn't show me logged in and login doesn't work? Didn't have a gog.com Account before, but I can log in there just fine. Thanks for the help!

Sure.
You're logged in on forums, but not on the black bar at the very top of the page (which is called by us "unibar"). After the update we've logged off every user on the unibar, but you're still logged in on forums (forum keeps the session). That's "normal", I mean, we knew about it. If you're able to login in via GOG form, do it as usual. If you're not, please describe your problem.

@Mataresa - we've also had some people say that if they go to their control panel http://forums.cdprojektred.com/usercp.php it will either instantly fix itself, or fix after a hard refresh.

Like I said and as @Mataresa reports I still am logged in but not on the "unibar" and cannot log in with any other device which isn't this PC. GOG form is useless, I can type the correct data or not but the outcome remains the same - nothing. The same form allow me to log in on gog.com. In addiction my name was successfuly changed to "MkTama" on GOG but here I am still MkTama90.

Tried what @Dragonbird said, unfortunately it didn't help.

My user name is still not fixed. I contacted support as above and was even given a ticket number. It shows as closed and I still have the wrong screen name..... Now what?
