And it only took Rockstar 6 (active) years and a team twice the size of Cp2077. All the while developing solely for PS4 and Xbox one. I'll be amazed if they actually pull it off.
More than twice the size. Over 3000 people worked on RDR2. I think CP team is around 450 now.

Yep, that makes that promise quite unrealistic. But it doesn't come from me...

Minor or bigger bugs/problems it is all the same, problem is problem, you can't say it is ok that some small bugs/problems are still in game, but how that is fine just because game is made by CDPR, but then to start and call other companys bad for same small bugs/problems.
Small bug/problem can also ruin your game same way a big one can, in TW3 there was bug during elf blacksmith quest that lock you permanently in combat.
While I agree that it's an issue whether it's small or big, especially if it's never fixed, but I don't think you can compare the two.

Bethesda released a game last year with bugs and bloatware from Morrowind which released in 2002 that they still haven't deigned necessary to fix before releasing the game. Bugs that were fixed by unpaid and unaffiliated modders years ago.

So yeah, any release with bugs that go unfixed is definitely a problem. It's also to be expected at some extent given any software release. It becomes a serious problem when it's either a multiplayer entry or in BGS' case is something that reveals their complete and utter incompetence and unwillingness to fix issues nearly two decades old.

Please take your time!! <3

Those who are cancelling pre-orders and no longer wanting your game clearly weren't here for your game in the first place, they were here to fit in and follow what's popular.

No worries and continue making a game you at Red are in love with. <3

Unrealistic or not, it dose put things into perspective as well as speak volumes about their high standards for the project.
and why they need a total of 9+ months of polishing out of 5 years of development.

Don't get me wrong, I totally support the decision of delaying the game.

We can't know, but I suspect some design elements are still being iterated on and it really isn't just a matter of bug fixing. Also, keep in mind the reason for a Sept. delay is possibly because virtually no AAA studios release during the summer months.

sorry but i just want to see what happens when the game actually launches. i simply can't pre-order this game, let alone buy it at launch date in good conscience by this point because i have an uneasy feeling about the hype this game has instigated not only on itself but for its consumers as well. i simply refuse to be a part of this.

Exactly, that's what I suspect too, especially with regards to hands-on gameplay like combat. I find it difficult to believe polishing takes that long. Fixing and changing things does. Yeah, I'm not a game developer, so what do I know? Still, I find it hard to believe that polishing alone would take up that much time in overall percentage terms of development time.

If they're still trying to fix and work on things then I have to wonder how difficult they are finding it and if they can actually achieve the high standard they seem to be aiming for. Not that I, myself, need absolutely spot-on, 9-10/10 pristine FPS gameplay in a story driven Action-RPG, mind you.

W3 is my joint Greatest of all Time and I'd give the combat in that a 7.5-8/10, even though the overall experience itself is a 10/10 from here to eternity :)

No, those who are cancelling pre-orders and no longer waiting their game was here for their product in first place. They thought CP2077 is interesting and wanted to play it. But this nonsense (9 months of polishing for finished and fully playable (a.k.a no gamebreaking bugs) game like what?) is dealbreaker for them so they lost their interest to product.

Me? Cancelled pre-order after entire [...] nonsense, I have zero respect who shows zero respect to us. Though, game is still interesting for me and I don't have IRL friends so I'm just watching and posting if something interesting happens. Will I buy the game? Why not if game is good and better RPG (5 decisions in +100 hour game shouldn't determine the ending) than W3?

Maybe.

But I still think a lot of people expect CP2077 to be the next great shooter/action game. They're bored/frustrated with their current shooter/action game and "need" to move on to the next. If CDPR isn't going to provide them their fix they'll just look elsewhere.

Don't forget that you have to code very differently for a PS than for a Xbox so it requires a much larger team.

And it will be that too, no doubt.
with that gunplay and bullet sponges?

I don’t think people really care at the end of the day (a shooter is a shooter no matter what, and it’s not the worst of its kind around); just like I don’t believe they would if the gameplay was different the way that’s been argued here ad nauseam in the past.

Some people don't, some quite the opposite. For me personally bullet sponges is the worst case scenario. Reminds me of all the outdated shooters where body was not divided into hit zones at all.

if you talk about a GREAT shooter, shooting must be great.

Try titanfall 2 and fallout 4 and you'll notice a huge difference in quality. But you know this already. :)

I’m almost willing to bet that most of the people who now cry out ”oh my god, bullet sponges”, once they get their hands on the game, it doesn’t bother them at all, or marginally at most. I’ve seen it before.

To me the whole idea of FPS combat is a travesty that will affect the game negatively, bullet sponges or not.

CDPR has gotten the feedback. And I’m certain the end combat will work such that people will call it ”great shooter”. Journos and toobers called it that already after the 2018 demo.

but not after the 2019 demo, that's the thing. 2018 had 3 good weapons, but enemy animations were hidden by all those numbers. If you go frame by frame you can see how bad they were. 2019 improved those animations but showed bad animations for other weapons. I mean, you can see it in the "deep dive", in particular when using the turret or when shooting at sasquatch. It's like shooting a wall.
Anyway, I hope they'll at least try to make people who want good gunplay happy if they don't care of deep role playing.
