Improve my computer

The witcher 2 runs so so so choppy on my computer. What can I do to my computer (not exspensivly tho) to help increase the smoothness of the game. I have 4 GB ram, Intel Pentium Dual CPU @ 2.4 gHz, Nvida Gforce G100. Thanks

you definately need a better GPU, the one you currently have is too low-end to run the game

What GPU do you recommended?

It depends on your resolution screen and PSU model

and your budget. nvidia 8800gt is a minimum, any faster card will result in better performance, but avoid cheap low-end cards like 9500gt or gt210

That's a good start, but for any serious recommendations, we need more details.

What CPU is that, exactly? Pentium D, Pentium Dual Core, Core 2 Duo, etc. If you can get a model number, it would be helpful. Unfortunately, it is probably old enough that there is no useful upgrade, but we need to know to say for sure.

What kind of case? Tower, slimline, desktop? Tower cases are the easiest to upgrade. Some slim or desktop cases have limited upgrade potential, and some have none at all. If you have a make and model number for your computer, we can figure this (and a lot of other details) out.

What power supply? If it's the stock power supply in a commercially built computer, it may have enough juice for a limited upgrade but not a major one. Again, we can figure this out if we know the make and model of the computer.
