Well, you see it as more appropriate because that's your preference. My time with Deus Ex and DEHR and Vampire: Bloodlines and Stalker and Far Cry and DayZ tell me FP is more appropriate and nearly as versatile for a modern-setting immersive RPG. A game like Amnesia drives home my choice for FP as being the best way to get my heart beating fast.

And, yes, isometric and platformer are very much me controlling a doll. Of course! Because I -am- controlling a doll.

This is almost like saying I prefer FP narrative in books because having a narrator breaks the immersion.

Almost, except not at all.

An audiovisual immersing (immersive seems not to be correct English, go figure) experience can't be compared to something you fully imagine in your own head.

You have points in your reply, but this isn't one.

Hell, man, I'm a 200+ lb lifter! We do not play with dolls!

That's 200lb in addition to one's own body, right?

No, no. That's what I weigh. I'm not going to post what I lift - that'd be gauche.

I will say that lifting 200lb isn't worth bragging about unless it's over your head. Maybe with one hand.

Gotta be both.

Each is able to create a different type of immersion and each is best suited for different things. If Fallout 3 could do both Cyberpunk should as well, but to be locked in to one or the other I think is a mistake.

Fallout 3, or any Bethesda game for that matter, is the strongest argument for not doing both. Compare Skyrim's melee to TW2 or Dark Souls...it is a fucking joke. I'd rather they commit to one view, even if it's FP. Doing both means a compromise.

Compare the Witcher's (1 or 2 no matter) first person aiming of a gun to Fallout 3, or the Witcher's (1 or 2 no matter) first person aiming of a bow or crossbow or a spell to Skyrim.

What did you say about jokes?

Right. You can't do the aforementioned in a third person view game. You can't do it. Period.

Not sure I understand. I did it all the time in TW2. Rotate mouse till icon is on desired target, and fire. Bombs were represented as an icon on the ground so you knew where they would land.

Yeah, that's not first person aiming.

A good melee and shooting interface that does both well is a challenge. W2 did not have it,though. Dark Souls and TW2 melee were good, although I thought really dodge-heavy, but CP 2077 is not going to be primarily melee.

We invented guns for a reason, after all.

And CDPR is well aware of this and considers the shooty bit worthy of serious attention.

I wasn't thrilled with either Dark Souls or W 2 combat. I preferred Gothic 1 and 2 aaaand...Witcher 1. Please don't lynch me.

How does this counter my assertion that doing both is a compromise? TP in Beth games is superfluous at best, the melee and animations simplistic and wooden. It's not just the engine, it's the fact everything is designed around FP gameplay.

FPP - great gun aiming, melee sucks

TPP - average gun aiming, great melee

do the math.

That's pretty subjective. TPP often has crappy gun aiaming. Usually, by my standards. And melee isn't great - I've seen that perhaps twice. Even good varies. I consider W1 to be good, and W 2 to be so so. Who rolls out of the way of sword strikes?

FPP...melee sucks. And gun aiming is good, but also often slippery or too robotic or whatever.

The math tells me I'm fussy, damn it!

Either way, aiming a gun in TP or FP means moving a target reticule.

I'm going to ignore the TW1 melee is better than TW2 comment...

It can be said this way also.

"First person.

I want to see how awesome my custom weapon is and how improved view is trough different scopes" as we are going to deal with weapons mainly.

I would like to have both views because I do prefer FPP but I do appreciate TPP.

suck = 0p
average = 5p
great = 10p

so FP = 10p + 0p = 10p
and TP = 5p + 10p = 15p

winner TP

also FP has better shooting but this isnt COD.
