There are a lot of rpgs where you can switch between first and third person perspective, you should add that option to the poll op. Shooting for example is better with fps but it's also cool to see your character in third person. You may also add top down option cause we don't really know what type of game-play we get.

@Sirnaq: Preference doesn't imply exclusivity. It's "what you'd like to see in the game" and not "what you don't want included in the game". If you prefer one of the two - you should vote. If you don't have any preferences in this respect - your vote wouldn't sway the balance of TPP vs FPP anyway. When you vote for your president and you don't care about either of the candidates (and/or about politics ;]) you just don't vote. There's no "I don't care" at the voting place.

I prefer third person too, but it's not a bad idea that first person option can be eligible inside the game.

I usually prefer the First Person simply because it is so much more immersive for me. The Third Person is acceptable as well though (if done correctly) and since I had no qualms with it in either The Witcher game I’m not concerned about it being used in Cyberpunk 2077 either :>

As for the people saying that they prefer the latter because they want to see what their (customizable) character looks like: This can be achieved in the First Person Perspective as well. Developers just have to be not lazy and let you see the whole body (that is, torso, legs and arms) when you look down. Other than that you can always put mirrors in the game for that purpose ;p

In general, I like FPP more. Still, I want to have the ability to switch between FPP and TPP, but if the devs only give us one but well-done mode, I won't complain.

So far, judging by how this thread develops, it seems that we - as players - are heavily divided on this topic. Therefore I really hope that CDPRed having in mind the magnitude of our different tastes and preferences, will include both FPP and TPP modes.

There's really no sense to limit the game to either FPP or TPP. Let's have both and allow the player to play the game as he/she wants. I'd definitely stick to FPP while walking around the world, interacting with character or shooting things. I'd switch to TPP only while doing melee or Hand-to-Hand (unless it would be done really good in FPP) or when interacting with the world in an agility fashion, i.e.: jumping around some crates or dancing in a club :)

Oh, and - since it's a big thing for me - I'll just say again that I'd love to be able to see my characters body from FPP whenever I'd do anything in that view. I hope that a RED will notice this and take it under consideration, because I'm confident they''re skulking the forums like crazy :)

I hope the OP doesn`t mind but I added a 3rd option in the poll. As I see a lot of people want or like both.

Maybe it would be a good idea to reset the poll.

I like both, just depends what's going on in the game at the time. A fast intense firefight-FPS. A bit of exploration FPS&TPP.

Is there an option to delete my vote like on witcher forum? Would like to vote for both.

I am pretty sure it will be 3rd person view. Cause unlike the Deus Ex, here you will have extensive and visible modifications, which couldn't be viewable from FPS - like the mention robotic legs, for instance.

Also Mass Effect is with guns and wholly done in 3rd person view, in fact its probably game with best 'guns' combat i ever played. Definitely beats any kind of crappy FPS game.

I`ll leave the option to reset the votes up to the OP.

Not that I know of. But maybe that is something that you have to decide when you open the poll. In any case, you should repeat that question/request in the appropriate thread just to be sure :3

I don't want two perspectives. It would lead to compromises and none of them would be good or one would be just for sake being there and it would be completely usless. I want one, done perfectly.

People, please use the forum search before creating a thread so we can avoid duplicates. Otherwise you’ll have to get used to me posting quotes of myself because I’ve already said the same in a dozen other threads about the same topic :p

But yeah, offering both perspective usually doesn’t end well.
