Just put in both. Usually, I prefer first person, but now and then third person has its uses.

From the poll so far, I gather that most players prefer 3rd person. But it's not like it would be really difficult to add 1st person. You just switch the camera view point from a point behind the character's shoulder to his face.

I don't want two perspectives. It would lead to compromises and none of them would be good or one would be just for sake being there and it would be completely usless. I want one, done perfectly.

It's easy for you as the viewer, but it's not that easy for the developers and it needs a fair amount of work. For example, for the TPP they have to work on body movement, physics, aiming for the TPP, shooting for the TPP etc while in the FPP they need to work on gun sway, shooting mechanics for the FPP which will be different from those of TPP etc.

So I say they should focus on one perspective.

Well I voted for both views, since I doesn't have anything against first person view if it's well done, but I'd prefer the third person view.

TPS all the way. Knowing CDP that will be the only case. Besides FPS won't make much sense here, despite making you feel more into the gameworld. and I would prefer TPS over FPS anyday

It's a difficult question.

On one hand I would like to see solely TP as due to animations and general interaction with the world can be more "visually" depicted (ie climbing a ladder or leaping over a car). In addition, it's great to see the Character I build as the Game progresses.

But then again, FP can be immensely rewarding as it's how one views "real life". We're creatures of nature that are "built" in FP. If done "correct" (with very, very, very, very few Games ever actually doing so), FP can be incredible but with the only drawback of being never to see your Character in action.

Difficult choices...

I prefer FP myself finding it more immersive; however since this game will probably have melee combat I think TP would be best

I'm really hoping for a first person perspective. I'm worried that with a third person view will come chest high walls. I'm also excited to see the awesome futuristic gadgets and weapons that they will create, which would be difficult to do if staring at my character's back all game. Personally, much like Demit, I also find the first person view more immersive, comming from games like Thief, the original Deus Ex and System Shock 2. However the third person view made a lot of sense for the Witcher games as the combat revolved around sword play and parrying your opponents. An option to play in either perspective would be a good compromise I guess...

Third person all the way. If they want first person when we're controlling drones, crawling in vents and stuff like that, it's fine.

I am pretty sure it will be 3rd person view. Cause unlike the Deus Ex, here you will have extensive and visible modifications, which couldn't be viewable from FPS - like the mention robotic legs, for instance.

Also Mass Effect is with guns and wholly done in 3rd person view, in fact its probably game with best 'guns' combat i ever played. Definitely beats any kind of crappy FPS game.

ME series has medicore shooting mechanics and feel. It's just ARCADE shooting, seriously. It doesn't feel proper.

try Operation Flashpoint or ARMA or Americas Army Online or SWAT4 or Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 (yes, Vegas included) to see how firing a gun should feel and work. Generally, I'd like the guns to feel as realistic and powerful as possible in a gaming world. I hope that's what CP2077 will be about, considering opinions on the PnP in which a single bullet from any gun will kill you if aimed correctly (and that's how I'd like to be able to play, hard-core).

In properly done FPP you can still see all you limbs (check my earlier posts about it) so you loose nothing. I'll try to look up some examples later on to attach so you can get a feel of what I mean. In an FPP done this way you gain much more immersion that you would be able to gain TPP and that's because of perspective - you feel like it's your body that's cyber-modified and those are your clothes you wearing and so on

Then again, this is my point of view and I certainly understand player who wish TPP. Once again - I do hope CDP will include FPP in which you see yourself, and a properly made TPP with an option to smoothly transition between these views in game.

I don't mind lethality in combat, but I wouldn't want the game to feel like military/weapon handling sim. Arma and co. are good games, but they have their own place and ideals. The RPG conventions are what should govern actions and outcomes here.

There are lots of great 3rd person shooters out there IMO, so if I can get decent controls I'm down for 3rd. I want to see my awesome customized character while playing.

After seeing this in actual effect, I would prefer to have one perspective and that perspective being Third Person.

tpp lets me look around corners and over walls without putting myself in danger....hard to argue with positives like that....also takes away the need for the usual Q-E left/right leaning buttons that other games sometimes have (where you run in a straight line mushing QEQEQEQEQE so nobody can get decent shots off at you)
