I don't think, that's a good idea.
As far as I know, everything will be wiped after the beta.
So after the beta either refund the money or wipe the progress, but keep the cards, that we bought during the beta.

it would be pretty weird if they didn't think of that... I'm sure they will refund it, if not in real money, then in in-game currency.

Yes you're right, it will be certainly refunded in-game after the Beta.

As long as it gets refunded in someway or you keep the cards, I'd be fine with purchasing some of them in the closed beta if I get in

Our goal is to test the economy within closed beta as well. So the answer is yes.

I'm not against this, but I am concerned about the whole beta wipe and this. I mean we pay for things and then lose it all? That could annoy some.

Don't worry, it has already been done before so many times with other dev/games. Either you get a credit refund or the exact same things you've bought in Beta after release.

We would never be unfair to players so worry not. We will disclose our way of handling the closed -> open beta transition when we are ready.
