What is everyone's opinion on the Hover cars from Total Recall(the new one)?

I liked them but they were very plain.

Ah, I was under the impression they operated on a similar principle to monorails. The whole electro-magnetic gig.

I liked them. I believe they were deliberately plain so as not to distract the viewer unnecessarily and to give the impression that they were 'unremarkable' to those accustomed to them.

Ah, I don't think they are that sci fi anymore, not compared to how sci fi AVs were in the early 90s when Cyberpunk 2020 was hitting the shelves.

Also, isn't their lack of 'edginess' in and of itself edgy?

Punk concert, one guy in a tailored grey suit and perfect hair. Tell me that guy doesn't stand out.

When everyone is trying to be loud, creative and daring in their style, then the few who opt for subtly are the ones who are being edgy.

That's not "edgy" that's just different. Edgy implies dangerous, unpredictable, sharp. Even if you could make the argument that your one guy has balls to do that in a punk concert, (not really, punks aren't likely to hurt him), it certainly doesn't apply to a bland white ovoid flying car.

Wait, the thing travels along the underside of a metal 'highway' and the only thing keeping it from plumetting to the ground in what would probably be a fatal accident is some magnets, and you don't hink there is any danger in that?

I suppose, although a similar argument could be made for a Volvo on the Autobahn.

i thought the travel technique was pretty cool, it's just that the cars look like electric shavers or cellphones. Not real, you know, "cool". More Star Trek cool.

Not really, if anything were to happen to the Volvo there is a 99.99% probability that it would do far more damage to whatever imacts it.

Volvo's are tanks.

Sure, with a little modifications they could well be gorgeous, but yes. As they stand they have a very cool mechanism for working, but they do look dull.

The Hover Board would be super awesome omg ^_^
Also I like those cars in that Eddie Murphy movie : The Adventures of Pluto Nash.

OT: I really hope that Cyberpunk2077 will be graphically similar to the Witcher Wild Hunt ... or better !

If I were rich, I'd buy the exact same movie prop only to scream that I am the law. Also I'd like to ride a dodge challenger, red with black stripe down the middle as my car in Cyberpunk just because I love that machine. Look at it... so awesome...

I think I need both of them! X3 The challenger is probably my most favorite car ever, it's just so badass. I'd give it tinted windows too. Also I know this might sound strange, but if I was going for pure intimidation, I'd go with a black Volga.

If you're wondering why, it has to do with some myth that black volgas used to pick up people so their organs could be cut out and given to the rich. It's also said that the devil was the driver, and if I was a bit of a psycho type of character, this would be my car. Sure it's very outdated even by today's standards, but it's all about the fear factor with this car. I'd imagine it'd be pretty expensive in 2077 though. ^^ Wonder how much a challenger would cost that far into the future.

Not sure... though, I wouldn't mind if they were given the "rough and tumble" treatment, like they gave the Nissan GT-R in Elysium:

As-is, or given the "Nomad special," the Challenger *is* a nice ride.
