[In Progress] Adding fur to Bear Armour

http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/559/?

This mod is pretty much complete! Any more editing requires either skills far above my own, or an update to the wcc that fixes the loss of bone, weight and alpha issues I've had up till now. Thanks for all the help from everyone,

Exactly how i wanted it look. If i could choose how it looks -the master-legendary version-with chainweave changing padded arms and leather trousers and metal chest guard(or reinforced by metal breastplate with chainweaved shoulders). And bear engraving on metal parst like greaves or spaulders. But the fur that changes the linen scarf-is perfect. I wish someone do the same with Unvik armor belt and fixed the holes in padded cloth there.

Could someone with uncooked files do me a solid and attempt to extract fur_01_wa_cerys in this folder - characters\models\main_npc\cerys\model ?

Huh, yeah same here, I guess wcc just can't export that? Wonder why.

Alas, as I said, if anyone has any other suggestions for NPCs with a pelt mantle, or any idea on how to fix the problem with Crach's, that'd be ace.

Minor update -

Ciri's DLC fur is a LITTLE better than Crachs, but is too much the other way, way too small.
Argh.

Amazing, is this gonna work with Hairworks?

Barely works at all right now.

But no, unless the original model for the pelt, wherever I pull it from, has Hairworks enabled, then I won't be able to add it, I just don't have any idea how I'd do that.

Post more NPC that might have fur peeps!

Thoughts? This is Yen's. Its a little smaller, but I like it more than the others so far, and the concept art fur isn't really much bigger. Some clipping issues, but none too bad.

I don't know your workflow, but what would be the issue with just exporting the stuff to 3d software and then adjusting it manually.
Given that wcc_lite .fbx export doesn't work very well with most 3d programs, but there are ways around that and i guess it would be much faster than blindly trying.

Didn't the "viking" chief wear some fur like thing during the longship funeral just as you enter Skellige?

As I said in the thread, whenever I do that, I get issues with the pelt unlocking from where it should be and just floating around.

I assume it's not weighted to appropriate bone.

You'd probably be right, but I have no idea how to weight something to a bone. Like I said, complete and utter noob at this stuff. How do I go about doing that?

Good lord. That might be the end of that then. Do I have access to this rigging info in the meshes? Does it even import, or is this why there is very little in the way of new armour mods out there?

Is there a way to do any of this stuff from Maya, or do I need 3DS Max?

---------- Updated at 03:14 PM ----------

Thanks to @DarkSpikeX, I've had a major breakthrough. Pics soon!

Success!

The Pellar and Britt's furs both look WAY better than any of the others, and I think I'll put both up on Nexus later today, and let people choose. I also tried that Wild Hunt guy's fur but...well.
Pics!
Britt/Skellige Woman

Pellars (or Guslar as he's inexplicably known in the game files)

And finally, the Wild Hunt!

Ahem. Yeah.

So I really like the Pellars, but what do you guys think?

I think the Pellars stay in the way of the swords in the back, so I'm not sure... The wild hunt one doesn't stand in the way (in that regard), but you can notice that it affects Geralts arms too (there is fur around his elbows). Tuff decision mate, as it must be a real pain in the arse to work with these 3D models... Nice job!

The wild hunt one is kind of a joke. It floats about 2 feet above Geralt's head, adds fur rings around his arms and is so very puffy it looks like he's wearing some kind of macklemore coat. The first two I think are the best, the swords are covered by the Pellars but I think the effect kinda works. Britt's is probably hands down the Best One.
