Included Djinni Editor does not allow editing of .2da files?

Am I correct in understanding that the Djinni editor does not allow the editing of the .2da files that came with the game, and there is no official way to extract these files as necessary for module creation? Is it that the only way to get these files is to use some sort of third party extraction tool?

Djinni allows for quite easy editing of 2da files, but they must be extracted first.Extraction so far requires the use of a third-party tool, but they're both freely available and officially accepted.

they are just text files, so you can change them outside of djinni and then reload them

Well..I got the Bif extractor thing. But now I can't find the .lua files.I'm still at a total loss why these tools weren't created and offered with the Djinni editor, and why we need to download them seperately.Seems like adding extra work for people to edit their files and create game modules :beer:Where are the .lua files? :)

In the unpacked lua-Directory from the main.key, i guess. Another question here, want not open a new thread. Where i can find the *.nss Script-files, so i can get some practice. Or are there so secret ::)What is the *.ncs file. If i write a script, there are 3 files from that script?thanksralf.

Every time you save/compile an .nss file in the editor, it gets compiled into .ncs (compiled form) and .ndb (for debugging). There's a couple of open-source .nss files in the Price of Neutrality mod, they're a good starting point.

You can open the 2da files in the Djinni itself, that's not a problem ;)
