Last time he was online was yesterday, so no he isn't vanished.

Well he hasn't bothered then to check in with people asking about his mod which means he has clearly abandoned it.

Not necessarily. Last time when he was most active he said something along the lines of "Don't wait for frequent updates to this thread" or something to that effect. He added that when he has something to share he will.

Fair enough, but he may also have no intention of sharing anything further related to this mod without telling people and that is what I find somewhat discourteous. It takes little to no effort to make a post to update people who are waiting.

Hello, sorry for the long silence. I pretty much give up on this project, what a pain in the ass it is. Honestly life is too short for crap like this. I spent over 750 hours in this game, quit playing the story after 45 hours. The rest is just modding and exploring. That's over a month of my life, and im 23. I'm a middle aged man if ass cancer kills me in my 50s like it probably will. If i ever pick it up again i won't be sharing any info on it, you'll just find it on the nexus. The moral of the story is, don't waste your life playing witcher. Go outside and breathe some fresh air, or go to the gym and build those biceps up. I still mod the game from time to time but I'm not wasting anymore time on this mod, besides someone could probably do this same thing with a line of code. Sorry for the inconvenience, if you're super bummed ill give you a refund, jk. I do this junk for free. Anyway I'm working on other stuff that doesn't fry my brain or destroy my posture so be happy for me lol. Sorry again folks, I'm really wishing i didn't share this until it was done, if it will ever be done.

Solid piece of advice right here. Especially the part about the gym. In fact, I find it curious that so many gamers don't go to the gym, when you consider that they mostly control muscular and athletic characters in video games. Wouldn't you want that for yourselves? Working on your body is a pretty big quality of life improvement. It also has a pretty big positive impact on your cognitive abilities, stress level and dealing with stress, anxiety, confidence etc.

This doesn't mean that you have to stop playing The Witcher 3, of course. 1h a day 6 days a week is all you need for the gym.

Asscancer made me rofl.
Also, bodybuilding has been scientifically proven to shorten your lifespan (if you take it as far as the bodybuilding industry wants you to anyway).
Most bodybuilders die of heart attacks, usually below an age of 50.

Still, if you don't go crazy it's pretty good for you.

Have fun with life and shit Daniel!

Eventhough you're right ( I go outside, and train my body etc.) I think it is everybodys own decision how to spend their life. I mean, it doesn't really matter, if you spend your time training, reading, gaming or sth else. In the end, nothing matters and you'll die anyway. And if there are people who love playing games, why not. Life is too short to do sth you don't want to do, just because someone told you to do so.

Yes, but people make decisions based on the information that they have. If they're not aware of how good something is for them, chances are they won't attempt it. And physical training and a bigger muscle mass (not taken to an extreme, of course) is really good for you. Not just because being stronger, faster, more stable and more mentally focused is obviously a good thing to have immediately, but also because physical fitness and muscle mass have a direct impact on how well you age. If people are unhealthy and weak now, as they grow older it's going to be worse for them. They risk becoming feeble old men, living in pain, with weak bones, weak muscles and a myriad of other health problems that could have been avoided in their youth. Not to mention mental issues like dementia. THAT is why people should be physically active.

Bodybuilding as a sport is a pretty fucked up and unhealthy. Not just because their exercises are brutal. On top of that all of those guys take unhealthy and sometimes illegal supplements that drastically shorten their lifespan. It's also not unusual for them to have back, knee, shoulder and elbow problems. But those people don't exercise for health reasons.

The only supplement that I take is whey protein, which is perfectly natural and healthy. In fact it's actually one of the healthiest forms of protein.

ImprovizoR Yeah, you might be right. But it is not that simple. Because genes have a huge part in the aging process and in health issues as well. It's like saying smoking causes cancer: yes, it probably will. But if you're lucky, you won't. There are enough people who smoke on a daily basis and never get cancer, and there are a lot of people who train, eat healthy and so on, and in the end get cancer or other things. In case of dementia, I don't know if it is that simple to say, train and you won't get it. I know, there are some studies. But studies are not very reliable in every case. And the way the brain works is still not completely known. And I#m pretty sure, that people know that sport is healthy. I mean, you can here and see this everywhere, in tv, magazines, radio, internet etc. It is very well known and no mystery. It's just that most people aren't that rational and persistent to do sport (through their entire life). And don't forget that some can't do sports because of health issues.
In the end, you're right, sport improves life quality. But it is no guarantee to stay healthy.

Just a quick question if you don't mind:

Does the Increased LOD mod (or any other similar mod you might happen to know) also solve the longstanding issue with the ridiculously low draw distance of the bigger ship's sails and masts, as described in this thread?

I haven't played the game nor followed further development/improvments (if there were any) in this regard for at least a good year now, so the last thing I know is that CDProjektRed themselves dramatically increased the sails and masts' draw distance for Radovid's ship in Oxenfurt with one of the 1.2x patches (I think), but for some reason did NOT do so for all the other big ships there are in the game (like the two escort ships next to Radovid's, the ships in or near Novigrad's docks or the Nilfgaardian vessel at the Ferry Station waypoint).

This might be what you need:
https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/949/?

Not sure if it works on the masts though.

I know this one fixes some LOD issues with boats, but again I don't think those sails are included. Still, here it is:

If this new version of the mod is in any way connected to the original version of the OP, maybe you could make a version that doesn't include the mountain. Thanks.

Btw, please look into the bug I posted about in the technical PC section, with the bathwater foam and water dripping effect. They're missing from the game unless one enables the Increased Draw Distance mod.

Wow, the new LOD mod seems to affect proxies, something current mod does not do.

What changed? Is it still script-based? Does it affect all of graphics assets, such as vegetation, and NPC's?

There is no way someone went through all the game's proxies... The video mostly shows architecture, so maybe it's edited Novigrad LOD mod?
