Inns and Camps in TW3?

Inns and camps will probably appear in TW3 in some way, and I was wondering what the public opinion is regarding them, do we want them at all? If yes how should they work? What would be their use in the game? lets discuss it!

My opinion:
One of my favorite games is Tales os Symphonia, and one of things that made me love it so much was that sense of travel, that feeling that you are "on the road" that never left you, and I think the inns really helped to convey that feeling by making you notice the days passing by.
For those who didn't play TOS, the inns worked like this: Once you got in there were usually two counters, one for getting a room the other for buying items(most of the time consumables),once you payed for for the room the party would sleep and wake up in the next morning completely restored, but sometimes stuff happened during the night, maybe whole cutscenes, maybe just quick dialogue.
I think it would be really great if the Inns and camps in TW3 worked like this, with Inns you would go in, pay for the room, stay in common hall for as long as you liked, then you went up and get fully recovered and save the game, most of the time it would just fast forward 8 hours, but sometimes stuff would happen, like a dream, a thief trying to rob the inn, etc, the possibilities are endless, same goes for the camps but in their case you would have to have the supplies in order to get fully restored, and before sleeping geralt would chat with roach or whomever is with him at the time.
Thanks for reading, and share your thoughts

I like to have inns in the game where you could play dice, get into fistfight, get drunk, talk to people, hear bards tell stories, run into old friends from the books, and so on. What I really want to see is each inn having a special missions different from other inns. For example in one inn you run into someone that bets Geralt if he could pick a fistfight with the biggest guy in the inn and win, or outdrink someone, or flirt with the prettiest girl in the inn and win her over, win knife throwing contest, and most importantly get into DUELS and so on. Weird missions like the one in Witcher 2 where Geralt ended up naked and with a Blue Stripes tattoo would also be nice. I'd also like to set up a camp or join other people's camps. I think Inns are an important part of the Witcher universe in general.

Inns should absolutely be in the game. I have felt in the past from games that inns don't feel like a place where your character goes to rest and they just feel like a place to buy/sell things or to pick-up and finish quests. So hopefully since Geralt is always on the road, CDPR can get the feel and atmosphere of a proper Inn right.

Inns are already in the game, there is no question about that. Some screenshots from older builds:

Here is some music from one of them:

Of course they should be in the game. And most most taverns should have rooms for rent, food to eat and the occasional wench to warm my bed.

Yea I really enjoy the moment when I am chatting with my firends like Zoltan and Dandelion, Playing Dice, chatting about rumors and stories, fistfighting, those memories, I really enjoy them, and I hope witcher 3 can bring me back those moments

There will obviously be inns in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt because we saw screenshots of Geralt of Rivia in a inn sometime in 2013.

I hope there will be camps though so I voted yes it will add a lot of atmospheric experience.

Totally agree with you.
In W2 inns were almost perfect but one thing was lost - this feeling of relaxation. Geralt didn't have animation for sitting and sleeping, all his cinematic talking with friends was cut to 1 scene on first entering the building. Adding more such scenes, having more animations and absolutely adding more variety in dialogues with friends, i.e. discussing news, finished quests - all this will make inns perfect.

And also I like idea of something happening at night. Each inn must feel special in some way.

Problem with inns is that since TW2 we can rest anywhere, so you don't actually need them. Simple solution would be to go BG and make it impossible to rest outside in cities/towns, while still allowing you to meditate anywhere in the wilderness, because... well, you're in the middle of a street, surrounded by people. Which would then force the player to go and look for an inn to spend the evening.

As for the idea of random encounters while meditating, I really like it. As long as it doesn't feel like you're being punished for resting (that stuff got really annoying in old IE games), and it's more like the OP described - a cool, short diversion.

I think it was done better in The witcher 1 where you could drink potions anywhere (like in TW2) but to level up and sleep you would need a campfire.

Yes, what @ReptilePZ said. I'm currently replaying Baldur's Gate(that and BG 2 are two of the best fantasy games I know). When trying to rest in a town you only draw the attention of the guards, who recommend you to go to an inn, or at least rest outside of town limits. Realistic, because why would town guards allow six adventurers make camp and rest in the middle of the street? Even in a minor town such as Nashkel, the guards wake you up. Geralt may not have five companions, and meditating everywhere was a choice in Witcher 2 but not in 1, and I don't know which is better. 1 feels more realistic regarding what Geralt does as he's meditating, brewing potions and preparing oils. Logically someone would probably comment or ask Geralt to leave if he sat down in a, say busy marketplace and started experimenting with his witcher potions. Or bombs.

I like both the thought of inns/taverns, camps(say a friendly logger/hunting/expedition camp) and resting in the outdoors. Sitting down in the middle of a busy Novigrad street is okay I guess, but not without comments from people or guards sometimes urge Geralt to move and meditate elsewhere. Could that mechanic be pulled off in 1998 it ought to be pulled off now. Damn, am I being a spoiled gamer now? Sorry devs, I love you! :unworthy:

I'm all for inns/taverns and camps! Love 'em! But I also like Geralt to mediate in the wild.

I like a idea of caving camps, lots of camps - refugee camps, military camps, hunters and loggers, druids, people hiding in the swamp (hello, swamp camp!), and so on. In the open world it would be nice from time to time to find some safe spot in the middle of the wilderness.

I can only think of barmaids and MAYBE a few exceptions but Inns aren't exactly a woman's place in a medieval setting, that's as uncommon as female soldiers, maybe with her husband, also the very first screen has a woman.

Also whores but I reckon they'll be at a brothel more than an Inn.

Well if CDPR wants to go hardcore and make players get room in the inn, they could take out health regen. The only way Geralt can heal is if he slept in an inn or a friends house. Meditation can be used only to level up, make potions, and skill up your character. I'm not really sure it is a really good idea though.
