it kinda does, but still need to see that in action to judge.
Anyway I'm pretty sure that Sign second mode is skill unlock, so you don;t have to use it...

I'm sure it's less a turret and more some kind of energy field.
Can't imagine CDPR putting in turrets. Would be ridiculous.
Or it was a joke.

agreed, if its some kind of energy field that does damage it would be better than a turrent. that just sounds like something out of a FPS.

Anyway the whole "you dont like it dont use it" is a weak excuse. it could have been designed better or given us something else. like maybe the alt for the yrden is the heliotrope. and gives the ability to geralt of blocking magic spells.

Where is the interview where CDPR talks about technical difficulties in developing the game on three machines (implying that consoles are holding back the pc version)?

Any other context there? As in, what graphical settings you're expected to run at 30 FPS?

Well the context is right there in my post - you're expected to run 30 FPS if you meet the recommended specs, that's all. It doesn't say if on low/mid/high/ultra.

I really hope so :p

id be great if its like a sort of area damage thing that has a wider range than normal yrden but gives really small incremental damage to those that stay near it. the best way to animate it i guess would be that thats its sort of like an constant electrical damage that goes through the ground. making flying units impervious to it?

---------- Updated at 10:43 AM ----------

anyway that makes most of the signs do we know the alt for axi and quen?

That's all you had to say. It doesn't really say much then, and people are making a fuss over pretty much nothing.

That was never implied, all they said was how multiplatform development works. All 3 platforms targetted are x86_64 so they can easily share 1 code tree and then it gets branched over to whatever's necessary, one branch for PS4, one for XB1 that way.

Maybe the fact that the code had to be shared between pc and consoles is what is holding back pc? I'm thinking about the horrible pop in that on pc is "only" farther and not removed, or the downgrade that can clerly be seen looking at the demo and at old screenshot or the "sword of destiny" trailer.

Here is a Danish preview article. Mostly the same stuff going on: http://www.gamereactor.dk/previews/271334/The+Witcher+3:+Wild+Hunt/?sid=a5658c234533fbea3b46b27a3c89c96e

"When we reached a small clearing, which was home to a level 30 Earth-monster, our sword could not even pierce it. After several perfect hits nothing touched it and after one single hit from it, we lost half of our HP. We called on our horse, Roach, who took us away from the strained situation." - They were level 15.

This is exactly what I was afraid would happen. I had hoped taking on higher levels would just mean a tougher challenge not "Fuck you, come back later".

We really don't know enough about the situation to judge. Maybe proper Blade Oil + Potion preparing & use could have given him a bit more of an edge, perhaps he had skilled Swordsmanship but if he was a more Magic focused build he could have slowly whittled it down with range Sign attacks...

However that said, it is a gap of 15 levels, I can't remember where but I swear I heard something about the game having about ~50 levels. If correct then we're talking about a level difference of ~30% of the total levels, that's fairly massive.

I do not agree. If you're severely underleveled the solution must be plan to return later. If they had done what you hoped the result would have been a plethora of enemies that all share the same strength..

A challenge meaning? More mouse clicks you have to deliver to bring down a damage sponge?

Or going back, finding more info about the monster, his vulnerabilities, attach patterns etc and then preparing yourself better with proper oils, bombs, traps, signs and then approaching the monster again and still risk dying?

Well, you could still try taking it on, nobody's preventing you from that, just that whoever played thought it best to skedaddle.
