Previous one wasn't so pessimistic, just the title of it made it much worse. Actual article was more positive than some other previews with positive titles.

Yeah, I got the same impression. I went in expecting something bad, but the actual things he wrote were... good? It confused me. Why play this silly game with the readers? Just be upfront, you're not under the capacity of a blogger, and I just finished the article thinking that you're just stubbornly trying to nurture some reputation of a hard-to-impress dude, nonchalant about what most people are excited about.

Anyway, I'm at this point where I don't see how any additional preview will tell me anything new. And there's too much to read, so if you guys come across something that you think stands out from the rest, I'll appreciate you highlighting it! I'm flooded right now.

Are anyone surprised that there's inconsistency with articles written by Kotaku? These sites (Polygon, Kotaku etc) are nothing more than trash tabloids promoting click bait, being condensing to their audience by labelling us as hateful individuals and are more focused on shock material to please social justice warriors than actual gamers. The whole purpose is of course to generate views and being negative (or stick out, whoever you wish to phrase it) and focusing on lists are a good way to get those views... Even if it means everything written there is complete trash.

There are more than enough actual gamers expressing their opinions about the game and overall people who actually spend more time focusing on the game as a whole itself, and not just spend the entire article expressing concern on how showing tits is "wank material" *Cough* Alec Meer, Witcher 2, RPS *Cough*

In contrast, easiest the best content that came out of this GoG stream were from GodisaGeek https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O7QaNnR9Vg Who both managed to stay informative but also entertaining. and Gameradar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30evY1uLiKI who actually did a good job being objective (Also Kinda funny games had a nice vibe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQtVMLfX684).

These blokes should be promoted (In case you ask, yes I spent way too much time looking over different videos after the GoG stream), not another topics on Witcher's similarity to Game of Thrones or how "the combat system is still too close to Witcher 2 so therefore this game won't be a hit" which honestly, such content should be considered an insult to the English language.

How many of the characters from Witcher 1 and 2 return ? (leaving the important ones)
Come one this world is huge can't we have atleast a sidequest with Shani ?
What's good though is during the Q&A the developers were interested in getting a DLC done :)
Please CD Project Red we need characters from previous games too, we want to see them in new Graphics and detail.
Do this for the fans who are following the Witcher series since its launch !

I was pleasantly surprised by RPS' article, especially considering their history of very restrained compliments, if at all. And there is specific paragraph which caught my eye more than most other previews:

Though I only played three hours, The Witcher 3 seems to be walking a fine line in its efforts to depict a more believable reality. The game opens with Geralt lying in a bath, legs splayed, enjoying not doing any of his morning chores. Beside him sits the sorceress Yennifer, naked in a chair, teasing him for being so lazy. It’s a scene that some people might see as pandering, particularly given the series previous form in this area, but it didn’t seem that way to me. Instead, I found it sweet and playful. There’s a happy back-and-forth between Geralt and Yennifer that made me smile, and so much of who these people are is communicated in that simple moment.

Maybe I'm just a mushy, but I love these slice of life scenes and casual banter. I'm actually really looking forward to this, and not just due to my cyber-crush on the sorceress.

I wouldn't be surprise if the ultra graphics will be included in a separate download file similar to Shadow of Mordor

The brick wall behind Jose is not looking much better than the one in the videos.

Now we know where the downgrade came from:troll:

This one kinda worries me a bit, I hope Geralts jump animation looks and feels cool in the end.
I remember one of the first game play videos with gamespot I think, it was one of the 5min clips just before they released the full 35min demos. I saw Geralt jump on that cobble stone bridge just outside the city before the fast travel to the swamps, and it looked fine and weighty enough to me. I hope they didn't change that animation just becase a small handful of people on here didn't like it, because it looked real good to me. Also.. I thought that we could just scroll through the desired witcher signs we wanted, by just tapping the left bumper to cycle through them and not even have to bring up that darn full rotary wheel at all? Hmm.. that kinda sucks, I was hoping I could just cycle through them, oh well... some times the wheel has its advantages, but it can also slow the flow of combat down for better or worse, just like TW2.
Well, I really hope they can fix all these little textures e.g grass, bugs, screen tearing and as much pop in as humanly possible ...etc..etc or whatever else the QA people didn't like, and those other little animations here and there, on whatever needs improvement for Geralt & Roche before launch. I liked the footage I really do, but the only thing I noticed right away and stood out the most to me was the lack of sound difference between Geralt & Roche while walking on different terrains, also the lip sync looked a little off. I didn't see horse tracks or foot prints in the snow, but that might just be the due to the poor youtube video quality.
I also keep in mind that this game is very fucking demanding... almost as demanding as some of us crazy ass witcher fans, if not more! lol... On the bright side tho, No loading screens outside of fast travel guys and gals, and that's really awesome. Yeah, Geralts jump over that wall after he got off the horse looked a little silly, and yeah the dog floating across the ground as Geralt walked by it was kinda funny and should be fixed. All in All I am way more pleased with what I have seen, and send my support to the Red Team, to seek out and clean up any and all last remaining bugs they can in these last few months. Maybe if the team looks at it playfully, like a child, as if each bug they fix in this game, something awesome in real life will happen somewhere in the real world, and it can be anything they want it to be.
Call me crazy, but I hope team devs have fun, and kinda make a game out of fixing bugs in there real game at least. e.g they fixed a game bug, and someone found the cure for cancer, or someone you will never meet will be healed from whatever lol..idk stuff like that, it might sound silly... but that is the spirit of faith at work I guess, all mysterious and shit HaHa..
Just continue to have fun cdpr team, that is all I'm really trying to say ;)

Exactly, when I first saw it, I thought it's pretty good. Even jumping over obstacles looked smooth, didn't really see any problem with that, and since then it must have only improved

And btw did they play on 980 SLI to max out?

It was on High and they were playing with just one GTX 980. This is a part of the article. Note it's Google translated (The developers say the highest level will still be optimized, but should then run fine on the same system.)

not sure if everyone already knew but that guy has confirmed that the HUD is totally customizable even to the consoles. He mentioned the XONE having an entire page worth of things to turn on/off for the HUD.
