The only new thing he talks about are PC controls. The game is already fully playable with mouse and keyboard, but Konrad believes they can still make some improvements, which is why journalists were playing on pads. He himself is a PC gamer and personally would never use a pad, that's why it's important for him to get it right and make it as comfortable as possible.

There is also a small tidbit that horse will not willingly go into a deep water, but aside of that you can get with it everywhere (even inside a household) as long as entrance is large enough. Interviewer also praised investigations and polish dubbing.

He looks like a renewed man and in style!

He was starting to be an old tired man 2 years ago :D

This is my favorite feature so far. I can see some laughs coming from it.

That's great to hear.. I just hope the switching between menus is going to be easy for the mouse.. because in the first version of the menus, it seemed to be good to use mouse and just click in which menu you would like to go.. now in the latest version, it looks like you must use Q and E to switch between them - and that's not ideal.. it's the best design for gamepad, but not for mouse+keyboard.. I don't know, maybe it's different or what .. this is all my speculation right now from the videos we have seen

I think simple key bindings will do the job just fine: I for inventory, J for journal, M for map, etc...

Well I would be ok with this system, but if you need to exist one menu screen (like e.g. "World Map") to go to another one ("Inventory"etc..) then this is a compromise, but it still isn't ideal.. if you would only need to click on the key "I" to go from "World Map" to "Inventory", that would be great

Yeah. On one hand though, the move toward a more basic looking UI could be because its easier to design unique UI elements using text.

What?

C'mon.

@Lieste you're probably right - the writer likely confused the map itself with the city.

to be fair, I've read from a journalist claiming that a CDPR staff making a bold statement that the city of Novigrad would be bigger than any city ever constructed in a game so who knows really. Maybe it's bigger than AC: Unity's Paris

Guys, what is really interesting to me, is the thing about PC controlls. How all the leaps and pirouettes will be done with the keyboard? wouldn't it be too complex thing to do?

I remember that, it was said by Damien Monnier on the latest GOG stream, he said that Novigrad is the biggest medieval city in a game ever made.

Based on the very vague estimate I'm getting from the 37 min gameplay video, I seriously doubt that.

What I do believe is that Novigrad will be the biggest city ever seen in a game that isn't focused on one to begin with. It might sound a bit less impressive when I write it down like that - everything sounds less impressive when you begin to specify the categories. But to me it's still amazing. The size of the city, considering it's not the focus of the world, is stunning. I mean, the only ones which I think compare are the cities in AC, but the series is focused on cities, and GTA (which is also mostly focused on cities).

Agreed, especially considering that a lot of medieval cities were not all that big.

well....this is where we'll see where CDPR draw the imaginary line between medieval fantasy fiction and actual historical estimations

They were not allowed during the presentation because they are not ready yet. I 'm sure that I am not the only one that getting the feel that the game is supposed to be played on controller with m&k controls as an afterthought.

There is option to play K+M.
Konrad Tomaszkiewicz said that they still working/tweaking it - that's what it was locked.
He also said that he is a PC gamer and this is how he himself wants to play it (K+M), interview was in Polish you need to believe me ;)
