I asked this in another thread and it may be answered somewhere that I'm not aware of already, but since there's REDs watching, can the player hotkey a certain amount of custom skillsetups so as not to need to individually activate stuff all the time?

the game mechanics is getting soo deeper than i thought. You are best dev team in the world.

I am new here. And my English is not good. But i want ask some questions about animation of Geralt. Please move this questions to proper thread.

For example, while Geralt ride a horse he did not move his legs and arms in last 15 min. video. But in debut and vgx trailer he moved his arms and legs while rided a horse. Is this still in game or did you cancel it? Second example; Geralts hair do not cast shadows to his face in last video. But in e3 and other videos hair casted shadows.

Sorry. I know this is not right place for this questions. Again. You are best team )))))))

Ok. Thank you. But did you ask about Geralts hair shadow too, or only horse ride animation?

Now I'm confused. I've not inquired about either. Just the skill setups and hotkeys for them.

The article is so positive that it almost feels sponsored.
So much PR in it.

But maybe the game is that good.

Novigrad is the biggest city in both the game and its literary lore, inspired by medieval Amsterdam and divided into different districts. Explore the suburbs, the farmland and the favela, and you’ve only seen what lies outside the city walls. Within them are the rich and poor districts, the docks, the temple islands and, “the sewers underneath, which is like another city basically,” Stec reveals. And there’s room for the monster hunting to continue within the city walls in The Attics – “another world of ghosts and monsters.”

Interesting! First time I hear about this.

Be that as it may, we’ve seen more evidence that The Witcher 3’s vastness exists for a greater purpose than back-of-box bragging than in the vast majority of open-worlders. For RPG aficionados who were recently treated to lacklustre sandbox elements in an otherwise excellent Dragon Age: Inquisition, the environment’s a big sell. Well, that and the entirely new playable character who we can exclusively reveal for the first time.

Err, I hate to break it to you, bud...

“It allows us to tell the story in a slightly different way, to present the same events from a different perspective and show the world as seen from her eyes.”

At this point, Szamalek continues, Geralt is also such an established character in the series that, “he has his limitations.” It wouldn’t make sense for him to suddenly take on a sarcastic bent, or ditch his trademark twin swords for a blackjack. “Adding a second character who’s different and exciting and who you can play in a different way… we hope this will enhance the experience.”

This sounds about right, and it's maybe the main reason I'm excited for Ciri. Whether it's a hub-based game or an open-world, whenever an RPG gives you total freedom, it struggles to make a good story, because it loses control. Ciri is a good way for them to get back some of that control, to create areas that aren't part of the two main maps, to introduce linearity for short periods of time that let them take the reins. It's like cheating to avoid that difficulty of open-world RPGs. I like it.

“We are aware that quests which are not polished or not really good will stand out and break the immersion, so we really are focused on [giving] a lot of attention even to the smallest of side-quests.” Szamalek points out the practice of the same merchant, voiced by the same actor, popping up everywhere in other RPGs, and what an immersion-breaker it is.

That's nice to hear. I don't know if they'll succeed, but the mere fact that they're aware of this and speaking about it is nice. Hopefully it's not false marketing. The only reason I have to be suspicious isn't because CDPR have a bad history, but because this is crazy ambitious.

Yeah, it's a back story pattern. The same element was in KOTOR 2.
