Q: How does the system of upgrading weapons look like? Do you have to find any specific ingredients? Is it necessary to find an appropriately skilled blacksmith?

A: Witcher’s weapons can be upgraded. This is done in a form of special quests. First, you need to find a schematic, which often requires killing a monster guarding it. Then, you have to collect the required ingredients. Finally, it is necessary to find the right craftsman. There are craftsmen on 3 levels of skills available: Journeyman, Master and Archmaster. The better the item, the more skilled craftsman is required. Archmasters first have to be “unlocked” by completing special quests. [RED]

Q: Is it possible to change color saturation like it was done in Arcania, where different variations of color settings were available?

A: No. [RED]

Q: Is it possible to adjust draw distance on PC version?

A: No. Most distances (e.g. for meshes) are set in assets. [RED]

Q: During one of the press events, many journalists complained about texture pop-in, occurring mostly in cut-scenes. Are you going to fix this problem?

A: We have managed to reduce this problem noticeably, so that it’s virtually nonexistent in cut-scenes. There may occur slight delays in texture loading, but this should happen sporadically. [RED]

Q: Can you explore Vizima freely?

A: No, the story will be limited to the palace in Vizima. [RED]

But interesting answers nevertheless.

I liked that we got confirmation of several smaller areas (sounds like more than just Vizima Palace and Kaer Morhen). Also Ciri can blink, which is gonna be epic.

What will characterize the Dark difficulty level? Will it be the same as Hard with the exception of permanent death?
There are 4 difficulty levels. Easy, Normal, Hard, and Dark. There is no permadeath; the Dark level is simply more difficult than Hard. [RED]

So Dark Mode doesn't have permadeath afterall.

All that discussion for nothing :S

Hopefully there is actually going to be physical discs in the retail version of the game. Hopefully the talk about a GOG code is like a bonus or something, I'll be pretty damn annoyed if there's no physical discs.

Also this: "Yes. Geralt’s crafting knowledge is limited to alchemy, so items can only be repaired by craftsmen."
Seems to imply you can't repair your own weapons, so perhaps we will have to visit a blacksmith each time after-all (Not that I'm annoyed by that).

Hopefully they truly did cut down on the pop-in as stated. Kind of sad to hear there isn't an increased draw distance on PC though.

All-in-all, just give me May 19th. This wait is death. I guess we've hit the official 2 month mark now (At least in Aus).

There's definitely going to be a physical disc in the retail version of the game.. and about the repair of items, atleast weapons can be repaired with the help of some special items

That's not what it says tho, it says you can't manually fiddle with the draw distance. This is not the same case as increasing say "Environment Quality" from High to Ultra increases the draw distance and other things. That still doesn't mean you can manually change the draw distance, atleast that's what I gather from it.

I remember an interview somewhere back there that said not only do you have to use black smiths, but that if you have a masterwork crafted sword, you have to use a masterwork level craftsman to fix it (looking for interview).

Yeah, the repair thing is odd since we had a Red in the topic about durability pop in and state that Geralt would be able to repair his own equipment. There is no "RED" next to that question so it could be that the author of the article is mistaken.

Yea that's a possibility. Admittedly there was a few things in the interview which seemed to renege on other statements previously made (Like Darkmode not having permadeath).

@sidspyker
True. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Witcher 2 for example had an LOD setting, so hopefully there'll be something akin to that.

@misho8723
I do hope so. It would be weird to be DRM Free and not include discs, and even some games like Dark Souls II gave you the discs even though they were essentially useless. It was just weird because of how the Q&A was asked, I'm still assuming there is physical discs but I will be cranky if for some reason there isn't.

I really hope we can repair equipment in the field. I know some people don't care about that but having to find a schematic and then the ingredients and then the right craftsman (which I'm sure you're going to need to do about 10 x over the course of the game at least) and then finding a blacksmith for repairs, plus eating food for out of combat health regeneration, or meditation....do we have to empty our bladders as well? I know, I know, some people really like this kind of thing, but I want to experience the narrative and kill monsters, and these kind of niggling things just come off as padding to me.

No, the story will be limited to the palace in Vizima.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO .__.

Are mission targets marked on the map too?
They are, although, similarly to Dragon Age: Inquisition, these are either precise spots/characters or broader areas that you first have to explore (e.g. using the medallion). Of course, the only missions marked on the map are the ones you set as active in the journal, thus the indicators can be easily removed.

This is a shame.

No. Most distances (e.g. for meshes) are set in assets

And this is sad.
