magic tree boss fight = magic roots that can't be burned downWhat has that tree to do with anything? There's absolutely no connection whatsoever.
If that's the case that a major failure on CDPR's part in explaining mechanics. Pretty simple.Except the quest involved a magic talking tree which they talk to after. He couldn't burn the roots and they needed to dive to reach their destination ( to showcase diving).
He's incredibly dumb, and at no point did it come to his mind that this was an extremely practiced presentation and the developers wouldn't say that their game doesn't make sense.
Oh why can't we burn the roots
I know we will dive under (WE HAVE DIVINGDD)
Aha a magic talking tree
Only this guy was so far up his own ass to understand simple presentation mechanics
It was a mistake on the journalists part for having an iq of 50.If that's the case that a major failure on CDPR's part in explaining mechanics. Pretty simple.
You don't go and say "now we will burn these roots.. oh, why isnt it working, uhh emm ok i dont know, lets dive", you say "we could try to burn these roots, as with others maybe, but these are too strong, so in TW3 many times like this you will have to find alternative passages using new methods of epxloration, like diving"
Its not an amateur YT "let's play" for entertainment, its a presentation
I made a mistake, it wasn't a magic tree, it was a tree spirit that is WRAPPED UP IN ROOTS. he didn't make the connection between roots and rootsthe jusnalis clearly has an iq of 50....they tried to burn the roots to show that under normal conditions it would be an option but this being a magical tree that will not work, so you HAVE to serch for an alternative.....burning vegetation vas in TW2 already but it was specific to a quest, now you can do it but that doesn't mean you can set fire to the whole forest. why is that hard to understand?
I don't think comments like these are helping your argument. It was a mistake on the journalists part for having an iq of 50.
Why?For everyone who reads the RPS article: please don't go to the comment section. You will get depressed.
Indeed, what have we learnt directly from E3 so far...? There's the new footage of course, but that just reassured things that we have already known (or assumed). What continues to surprise me though is that no new information seems to be coming out of these interviews, except in the rare instances where an accidental or deliberate slip of tongue happens. And even then, there's no follow up.
Up until now, the RPS piece has been by far the best article to come out of E3.
well, a few things were big news to me:Indeed, what have we learnt directly from E3 so far...? There's the new footage of course, but that just reassured things that we have already known (or assumed).
But if you take the Sword of Destiny trailer into account, then we actually got quite a good amount of new information.
And I think there are still a lot of interviews left to be posted (gamermd83 and AngryJoe for example) that can provide with some fresh info about the game.
Now mind that I'm satisfied with what we got (especially the new footage), but they do seem pretty tight-lipped still. Of course, the marketing campaign is still at a relatively early stage.well, a few things were big news to me:
-mounted combat confirmed - we kinda knew that already
-swimming in all bodies of water, even the seas - again
-underwater combat and monsters - that's new, but also a little worrying
-most of the buildings in Novigrad we can explore..... O_O - buildings were enterable in previous games as well, now I wonder whether we can enter buildings like churches, schools, etc. as well, that would be something
-huge dungeons confirmed - nice, but hinted in SoD trailer
-Horse racing and boat racing - boat racing is new, horse racing is pre-E3
Same here. I think it's because the preview is quite professional in execution and balanced in opinions, but the person writing and delivering it still sounds like he's not totally getting the Witcher lore etc.The Polygon's review, though.... I don't know why, but it irks me a bit. And not because is probably the most conservative / less positive review I have read these days. I don't know exactly why. Anyway, thanks for the link.
Oh, I feel that a lot when people are talking/writing about the Witcher games. Generally, everybody says nice things about them (and CDPR), but there's always that 'neutrality' (or ignorance?) that I can't really put my finger on.Same here. I think it's because the preview is quite professional in execution and balanced in opinions, but the person writing and delivering it still sounds like he's not totally getting the Witcher lore etc.
