Are you sure that the monster is not from the game? And please describe me how "Witcher" monster should look in your opinion:)
Because as I said, it's completely uninspired. It looks like a typical boar replacement for "random fantasy" MMOs like World of Warcraft. The design hardly makes sense as well, if you consider it has white eyes and some fangs coming out horizontally from its mouth. So yes, it looks like a quick generic showcasing monster to me, and I'm pretty confident the ones in the game will be much, much better. :yes

As for a "Witcher" monster, as far as I'm concerned it should be believable, fitting, and preferably with an original and distinctive look, since we're only talking about looks.

Well you can't please everyone all the time.
I think it would look way better in person you guys.
That video does not do it justice, Im sure.
I think it will be great, it reminds me of a fucked ass lion on crystal meth- lets kill you guys!!

Man I Hope they put it in the game just for you bro, only cuz you seem to hate it so much hahaha
All the more reason to want to hunt the reliotard down and slay it. :)

The monster in the demo looks better and more inspired than the green dogs from Witcher 1.
Plus it's just a tech demo, no one hinted that it's going to be one of the monsters in Witcher 3. They said the same technology is used in Witcher 3, but they did not say the same monster is going to be in the game. Not that I mind if it is, I thought it looked kind of interesting.

Okay, as soon as you can shell out 2 grand for my PC and another grand for the HDTV and $60 for the controller and $150 for headphones and $120 for TW3 CE and $600 for a dolby 5.1 speaker set and $300 for it's reciver then Okay. lol... Just let me know and I will more than happy to send you my mailing info thanks;)
Why would you need a controller, either play with kayboard and mouse, or use an old one, or would this be the first console you are getting? Same goes for the TV and the sound system, don't you own this already, or were you planning on playing on the console without screen and sound? (Which would be interesting, but when do you know, when you are done?) Same goes for the game, where the PC copy will probably be even slightly cheaper. So only the PC remains. There are places that have such high prices, but it is my understanding, that consoles are as expensive as well there. So I can't see, why you would be able to play on console (missing the fur of course), but not on PC.

Well Barghest is originally a mystical large black dog, so they made dangerous dogs. The green tint was probably more interesting than just making it black. If you think of stories of the Hound of Baskerville or similar things, those can be quite scary and I thought the introduction to them at the gate of the tavern was quite nice. But of course this is all subject to taste.

I want it all & No Cutting Anything.
If next gen consoles can't keep up with cdpr's art/devs, then maybe they need to up grade their systems already. I don't want to keep saying to myself that this gen should have been last gen. Just like the last two gen's that came before the last two gen consoles.
I don't know why they gotta keep holding us all back, I dont care if it's some government old area 51 shit from E.T.'s, or both.
(lol). Just give CDPR/ART/DEVS, the ways and the means to keep on creating the most amazing RPG/GOD Games Ever.
Cuz Us Hybrids are not getting any younger are we... ;)

Sadly it's just how it is. The "Next-Gen" Consoles were already outdated before they even released. Anyone who didn't realize this before and/or doesn't expect visual cutbacks on the Consoles compared to PC is sadly, very naive. I don't have anything against Consoles, go for it, but you really can't expect the game to look as good as a High End PC (Or run as smooth, see: 60FPS). Regardless, Graphics aren't going to change how the game actually plays or the quality of the writing/story & that's what really matters, not pretty fur.

Well to be fair, framerate and user input devices can change how the game actually plays. But at least the latter is independant of technology and rather genre or game design specific.

Thank You,
All valid and good points.
Well I have faith that I will have good vital health and enough money to buy all I need to enjoy this game come FEB2015.
Time to get outside and go for a walk ;)

Well, dont you need a hi-fi system for the consol to? There is already a thread about console vs PC so i want go down deeper on the subject. tough you have a full year to save money.

Because PC can't display on HDTV, can't use controller, headphones and dolby 5.1. Plug the PC on the TV and you're done. And no one will need 2k € PC for witcher 3 highest settings.

Let's go back to discussing the tech-demo or any other article linked. This thread - and forum in general - is not for PC vs. console talk.

I honestly hope CDPR isn't wasting too much of their efforts and resources on graphics and ridiculous tech.

I say that with good intention...What they are doing with this game just seems so out there to me.

It just seems so unreal that an open world game bigger than skyrim can look like that.

wow

Video on the bottom was posted already, but I havent seen the other one in here. Both from GDC.
Its probably the same as from last year thogh

No waste. Graphics and high tech are what make this game purr...Baby!
So you better believe it. ;)

I liked those spectral green dogs, surely better than this particular monster. They made sense, at least, they had a purpose; this one isn't really a design gem, and it's something so random that I could swear I've seen identical ones in a handful of other games. So, personally, I hope CDPR goes for something much more sophisticated than that, and I'm confident they will since they never disappointed so far. But as the good old Letho liked to put it, there's no accounting for taste. :listen:

And yeah, everything suggests that it was created appositely to show the tech.

"It will never happen just for the sake of having more sex in the games," he continues. "That's not our point. It's not a Pokemon way, like 'collect them all.'"

No hookers this time? I hope that's not the case. I liked some of those skinemax cut scenes. 8)
