you know what , there is some controversy around new Metal Gear Solid being just short demo for full price , and i was like "yeah fack u konami" but than i starting thiking what if CDPR realese something like this for W3, tutorial-demo placing in kear morhen! SNAP GIVE ME THAT!! I can pay what ever u want!

prelude for main game like this would be awesome!! just little , close location showing mood and graphics of upcoming game, nothing more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in my mind i see geralt telling others witchers his adventures , an player pick his choices nand in the end he building save for Witcher 3...just really make it real

To all that haters who tells that bullshit about Metal Gear i just want to say : Where the hell else you could find such beautifull made prologue to the next chapter(Phantom Pain). Metal Gear Substance was like that too, but still its one of Konami masterprices . I can tell Ground Zeroes is the strong game as it is -with graphic ,story (aspecially death of Paz)and everything. And its can show that this sort part is just top of iceberg that come to us with Metal Gear Phantom Pain. So stop complaining about thatgame is short. The game is perfect as it is.

It's also $30 and they were planning to sell it for $40. The prologue to the game. Sold separately. For full price. Yea, no.

@slimgrin If this is true, and kaer morhen is in the game, then it means the map is going to be really freaking huge!!

Not necessarily. If there is a teleportation mechanism like in Witcher 1, then Geralt would be able to teleport himself to Kaer morhen anytime he wants without it being part of the map. For example Triss sets up a teleportation system for Geralt to Kaer Morhen from her house, so Geralt could easily go to Kaer Morhen and re- stock and get advice from Vesemir. Teleportation is not alien in the Witcher universe as Geralt was able to teleport in Witcher 1, Triss in both games, and finally Sile' at the end of the game in Witcher 2.

I'm a fan of Metal Gear Solid myself, but I believe that 30$ was a bit steep for such short experience. If the demo or prologue, as Kojima calls it, was 5-10$ then I and many others would endorse and praise it. It was still a very enjoyable experience for the fans, but I'm sure it did not do a good job in introducing the new comers to the series since there are many Xbox fans that are new to the series this time around. It did not introduce the character such as Paz and their back stories and so on. Now to relate this to Witcher as much as I would love to have the luxury of such demo for Witcher, I don't think it's practical for CDPR especially since the game it self got delayed.

Good stuff.
Well it sounds like no hope for NG+ or free roam.. oh well tears..
I will just have to get over it and hope they will give us a free dlc patch at a latter date with that option.

Wait. 30 $ ? Just for the disc or collection edition with extra content(artbook e.t.c.)? Yeah the price bites. Hideo should put discount coupon to next game because its not very good move.

"Though boats can be used to explore the current island, they cannot be used to travel between regions. "Sometimes, on the sea, we have to use fast travel," says Platkow-Gilewski. "To reflect the real distance, you would have to travel for several hours in a boat. You would get bored."

Kind of loading screens between islands ? I hope there won't be loading screens while entering a building.

Well they are describing it officially as a "Multi-Region Open World". There's the 3 main regions, so perhaps there's just some kind of Travel System between each of those regions, however inside those regions it's completely open world with no loading screens. That would make perfect sense to me.

Well they never specifically stated that there wouldn't be freeroam, or even NG+ for that matter.
"We don't want to finish it like, you don't know if this really ends or not, and you're a little bit unsatisfied. It needs to be a strong punch."

I read that line more in terms of the story. Almost (And this is purely personal not what the interviewee intended) like a jab at the sort of Mass Effect 3 scenario where the ending is completely unsatisfying & people thinking up ridiculous scenarios to pretend the ending had more to it. Not that Freeroam/NG+ are completely off the table.
I'll say what I did in the other thread, as amazing as having those features would be, it really isn't necessary to make the game great. As long as the game is designed well so those features aren't necessary (No level scaling with some insanely difficult encounters is one way to not need NG+ imo), it'll be fantastic regardless.

Well, the Indoctrination theory makes the ending pretty badass imo.

On the topic, considering the fact that W3 is the end to such an epic story of Geralt, I would prefer the game to end with an epic ending.

@ztkigzvkg
Me too, Geralt has been through enough, I'll try to give him a happy ending(if there's that option), but I don't think that should mean no NG+ or free roam.
After the story is over they should let us enjoy the game mechanics imo.

Indoctrination Theory is just a desperate attempt to make sense of the ridiculous ending.

Well,it is true that it is fan made but hey, why not to stay with that as an really thought-through ending to a very good trilogy that even makes sense. It is definitely a better one than what Bioware gave us.

"The city of Novigrad is 46 square kilometers in size"

I seem to have missed this info in the slides from the PDF, if this is true then how is the whole world of TW3 74 square KM as said in the Neogaf post? that would make Novigrad far too big compared to the two other areas, one of the two sizes is probably wrong.

EDIT: Okay in the slide for Terrain Streaimng it says 74km2 under "Working setup for Novigrad", so is this just Novigrad's size, or is it the whole game? How many Km2 large was the world of witcher 2 aprox?
