I hope we can overdose on potions to get crazy bonuses even if it means substantial stat/health hits in other ways. I liked the high risk/high reward approach of that in TW2, but I felt they didn't expand enough on the idea. Implementing the ecosystem as Jonas claims would be one of the things to make the game stand out from other open worlds. Sounds promising.

Noteworthy:
- Not only potions, but bombs also auto-refill. And Konrad, everybody knows tea bags are not really recyclable. You simply get progressively murkier water.
- Ubersampling on Xbox One and PS4, a staple from the get go.
- Konrad regularly chimes in on the OST.

Good interview - it actually clarified on a few things people have been wondering about.

Bombs too??????WTF?????

Where the fuck is logic and fun in that? That's cheat for fuck's sake. It's like typing console command in GTA games for example and having infinite ammo.

Skyrim....Skyrim for fuck's sake....we are talking about goddamn KING of casual rpgs on EASIEST difficulty doesn't have infinte potions and other stuff.FUCK.

So ALL I need to do is make them bloody ONCE and voila...I have INFINITE supplies of them for the rest of game.Screw searching for plants, screw crafting bombs, screw making potions let's show Bethesda that we can be even MORE casual then them.

Words cannot express how utterly disappointed I am right now. Why even include alchemy at all then? It's going to be abandoned before you get half-way through the game, and if you only have access to a few potions early-game until you've "unlocked" more of them, it neuters the experience of preparing for battles!
Not to mention the mutagenic potions that last until you cancel them, but still add to your toxicity. What will probably happen is that people will find a "perfect" mix of mutagenic potions to always have active, which in turn hinders your ability to use regular potions, making potions a thing of the past!

Refilling bombs:facepalm:

This basically means that I can win every fight by spamming out all the bombs I have, because they be refilled for free just after I am done with that fight.

How stupid is that?

We don't really know the power and limitations of the bombs in combat. It might be we only get like 3 bombs per fight or something.

Of course this does not mean I like the system, I don't. Just that I doubt you'd have unlimited bombs in a fight.

Little off-topic, but...

No official thread about the 20th anniversary of CD Projekt as a company? It seems they had a big celebration.

It DEVALUES alchemy and bombs. It's cheat oh wait it's feature (Rome 2 style). If it gets implemented then for the love of everything on Earth PLEASE give us hardcore/darkmode/mode for noncheaters in which alchemy would resemble system we had in Witcher 1 and the absolute lowest I'm ready to go is alchemy from Wicther 2.

The problem was in gamer's head not in gameplay and I'm intersted to find out what REASONING can they come up with for perpetum mobile potions.

Oh and congratulations on 20th birthday CD Projekt you are the best and you are true inventors who push thing forward in game industry.
:hatsoff::cheers:

Just please don't oversimplify game and if you have to you always can put different game mods and in that way eat and still have your delicious cake.Cheers.

Oh dear... even bombs? Even in games like the Legend of Zelda series, which is quite light on traditional RPG mechanics, you need to stock up on potions and bombs manually. Are you telling me The Witcher 3, the self-anointed 'crowning achievement in the RPG genre', will actually have such a simplified mechanic? I implore you CDPR, please reconsider. Not only does it make NO sense, it's going to turn a lot of your current player-base, off.

I read an italian interview, nothing new (at least for me) but this made me happy:

We'll have to read the books as in the first Witcher? I ask this because in the latter you have taken away the need to do so, well... and I was sad...

John Mamais: I think so ... Wait ... Hey Konrad! We put the books right? We've got them?

Konrad Tomaszkiewicz: I'm coming, a moment...

John Mamais: Anyway there will be a lot of "Witcher lore"! In different forms, just as in projects to create new weapons and armor that you will find in the game in different witchers' hideouts, left there by your monster-slayer colleagues.

Konrad Tomaszkiewicz: Here I am, then. We'll have books back in The Witcher 3! There you will find information about the monsters, the quests that you have done, or are doing, or you'll have to play, or simply information about the game world not strictly necessary but that all fans will appreciate. You will find even some useful books to unlock some skills: for example, you can increase reading skills to ride and swim. Not to mention the whole stories to be discovered which could affect other events in the game... just in the books!

And this lol moment...
So to conclude... Cyberpunk? How is it?
John Mamais: Fine. Thank you.
[laughter]
John Mamais: No... really... we are working hard and it's coming on well... it will be spectacular! But I can not say anything...
Thanks for the interview!

If there is like 3 bombs max I don't see the issue here, it makes it easier for not going to grind them every single time we are preparing for a fight.

1. We probably need a seperate topic to talk about alchemy (something tels me we already have one).

2. You need to craft the majority all the same. The refiling ones, are the ones you are supposed to spam in the first place. That's why they refil people.

Did you read the last interview? They said you need to "rest at a fireplace". So you won't be able to recharge your stuff after every fight. And "every potion has 3 levels" so you won't be OP in the begining. Am I the only happy about this new system?

They already said that there will be quite a lot side activities and games and I'm pretty sure though we can never be 100% sure that dice poker will find it's way to final game.I would surely like it.Imagine also betting on horse races etc.It would be great.

when you’re playing, when you’re resting near the fireplace, potions will be automatically refilled

This could be interpreted to mean whenever you're playing. It's a tad ambiguous..

(Sorry, Dragonbird)

fireplace means meditation, which you can enter when you are not in fight
