INVALID_POINTER_READ Error

+
Hi, I've downloaded the Cyberpunk 2077 few days ago and when I start playing it I get randomly crashes on my game. It happens like 1 or 2 minute after I start playing it.

When I've anaylzed the dmp files I've seen the INVALID_POINTER_READ_c0000005_nvwgf2umx.dll!Unknown and INVALID_POINTER_READ_c0000005_Cyberpunk2077.exe!Unknown errors on two different dmp files.

And when I've checked the atch file I've seen this:

Registered crash info file...
InternalVersion: 3.0.5169109 P4CL: 8153950 Stream: //R6.Root/R6.Release
!!!CRASHED!!!
Error Reason: Unhandled exception
Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0x0.
File: <Unknown>
Line: 0

So far I've tried:
1. Reinstall Windows
2. Downgrade GPU driver
3. Check RAM with MemTest and OCCT and didn't get any error.
4. Did some things like "sfc/scannow" didn't get any error as well.
5. Verify game files.

I was wondering if anyone got solution for this error. Help please :)

I've attached the DxDiag file and here are the 2 different log files: https://mega.nz/folder/PMEzgBrD#NQT2oRtyo5m1S8Liw6Zbqw

Hi,
First, check everything suggested by the support and if it's not already done, send a ticket directly to the support ("contact us" button).
I assume, it's the first time you play to Cyberpunk?
And so, you don't use and never used mods?
No issue on other games?

Hi, no it's my second time playing it and at first I didn't had any error with it. I've played it like 8-9 monts ago I think. I don't use any mods. I'll use the contact us I think.

The nvwgf2umx.dll error is rooted in either the Nvidia drivers or DirectX trying to communicate with the drivers. Likely, something is hooking the mouse cursor during play: another program running that uses the graphics drivers, perhaps a web browser, video capture software, etc.

What else is on while you're running the game?

Do you use Geforce Experience, or are you just installing the drivers manually?

What I have actively on background; Steelseries GG, Windows Defender, Gigabyte Control Center and at the second screen I open Chrome. From what u're saying Steelseries GG takes auto clips on some games like CSGO and League of Legends but Cyberpunk is not one of them. After downloading the game I'll try it with closing Steelseries GG.

About drivers, at first I was using Geforce Experience and it was doing updates auto, after the first reinstall on Windows I've installed it manually. Right now I've reinstalled Windows again and will use Geforce Experience again I think. Before updating the drivers I'll install game and see if I get any error.

So after clean install of Win11 and game without GPU driver, I still get this after 1-2 min of gameplay still getting 0xc0000005 sorry some texts are Turkish.

If, for example, the capture software is active and recording, that could be the source of the issue. May be worth disabling the Steelseries GG and see if that has any effect.

Quite the opposite, actually. Geforce Experience can add a mostly unnecessary layer to the config (not to mention updating without permission and configuring settings in a less than optimal way while attempting to "optimize".) I'd leave that out for now, as including it may complicate whatever the issue is.

Generally, it sounds like your system was configured pretty well for a gaming environment at the start. This must be something else. Are you downloading the reference drivers directly from Nvidia.com, or are you using the customized Gigabyte drivers (from the GPU manufacture's website)?

So with the help of u guys and the Support, I think we have found a fix for my problem.
I've tried Bios version F12 and F13 when I was trying to play the game and it turns out there is an another Bios version that named F14c for Z790 UD AX. Since Gigabytes app didn't show me that one, I thought I had the latest update of it. With the Supports respond I've downloaded the latest Bios update from the Gigabyte's website and it fixed my problem.

The problem was cause of Intels processor I think. For more info:

I don't know how did I not get the error since this time but as you can see on the comments people are complaining about the same problem that I had.

After installing latest Bios version F14c I didn't get any error on Cyberpunk 2077.
Thank you all for the help and fast responses.
