Hello, I've stopped playing at level 14 because there are too many things in the inventory, things that I don't want to sell (books, complete armors etc).
So my inventory is not clear at all because different kinds of things are mixed in the same tabs.

Can we expect in the near future a patch including an enhanced inventory (sorting options and new tabs) and a personal chest ?

I'd desperately like to see MORE INVENTORY SLOTS for everything. Some of us are rather, well, Collectors of stuff, you know? How bout a very big inventory for many, many, more rows of slots with a scroll bar for even more! I'm dead serious. And, seriously, developers, I adore Witcher. But I'm less abled, and left handed, took zillion hours to make playable input_settings for leftie custom mouse using right side of keyboard keys around arrows, and want to collect stuff from all over, really. Yes, I understand that this is not Elder Scrolls, and you take your Witcher very seriously, BUT, what about us folks who can only play to have a good time while we can. Even if we use cheats, we're not hurting anybody else out there in Witcher land. The bottom line is playing the game to ENJOY PLAYING THE GAME, not being the hardest, baddest, toughass of all Witcherdom Wicherness, right? Isn't that what I paid you wonderful folks at CDPROJECTRED for: a wonderful experience that I could enjoy for a LONG TIME in my own way, probably the slowest Witcher out there, but HEY, I'm still trying! I want to play dispite everything. So Please allow some openings for people who aren't in this for the Witcher hardass trophy of life, but to enjoy your game as best we can, right? I love you, CDPROJECTRED. Please give us a lot more inventory spaces, for those that are harmlessly playing in our own style. It's fun being a collector by the way, you should try it.... I haven't gotten that big beautiful place that the game says I'll have yet..... I hope it has room to put LOTS and LOTS of beautiful things I've collected.....that is, if you let me, by having a bigger inventory. Please? I'm asking politely and with great humility. I might not have the best life in the world, but WITCHER games, the 2 before, made me come back to LIFE! get it? HELP? UtherOrange

I'd like storage, and to have books marked if you've read them or not. And some items in the 'junk' say they can be dismantled or sold but when I go to dismantle them they are not appearing as available to dismantle.

[Minor Spoilers]

The main thing I want is a quick slot for blade oils. While exploring a cave full of neckkers or walking down the field near the Devil's Pit that's full of necckers, I'd like to apply ogrid oil directly from on the go just like I can use a potion. I think this might be an oversight by the devs (but the game is awesome so far). This really felt needed when fighting bandits along the coast when I needed to apply hanged man's venom regularly for maximum effect. Right now parrying and countering works fine that I don't really need oils to fight humans. When it comes to monsters, well, it's a different story. So, two quick slots for blade oils, 'T' & 'G' for quick blade oils would be an awesome feature to make the game-play much easier and less a hassle.

Thanks

I pretty much agree with everything said in this thread.
I'd add that potions, oils and bombs could be marked with icons or something, so I would know what is what at a glance. Now I have to wait for description to pop up.

My rambling about the weight system...

This isn't a "looting RPG" like Diablo or Monster Hunter. We shouldn't have to return to town every hour to sell loot.

There's a confliction within your statement.

Hoarding loot in The Witcher 3 like in mentioned games results in being overburdened in the first place.

Indeed. But can you blame me for looting every book, crating material, and food in sight when the game places so much value on them? I need crafting materials for upgrades, food for regenerating health (Dealth March difficulty), and books for learning about the world. I could buy them from a merchant for coin, or loot them from the world for free and save my coin for more important things. I choose the latter.

And for what it's worth, in the other games I mentioned returning to town to sell loot and then returning to the wild takes about 2 minutes. Not 15 minutes like it does in The Witcher 3.

(What I already posted on the "Tech Support" section)

1. Inventory tweaks

_ Add more tabs (Books & Notes | Potions & Bombs | etc.) and give the opportunity to sort items by Name/Weight/Novelty/Price within each tab.
_ Make the "new items" more obvious. The golden asterisk is not visible enough.
_ Enlarge the inventory space displayed, to avoid scrolling that much.

2. Alchemy & Crafting

_ Add tabs rather than (huge) lists: Armors - Swords - Gauntlets - Trowers - etc. for crafting and alchemy.

3. Gameplay

_ Fixing the remaining quest bugs that people are spotting (not far enough in the game to notice them though)
_ A button to toggle walk/run when using a controller on PC (having to handle the stick inclination is unpleasant)
_ Extend the durability duration of the swords?
_ Extend the "enhanced weapon/sword" duration when using the blacksmith/armorer tools (dunno the name in English)
_ Add a REAL way to store things (=chests), other than dropping items on the ground ^^

4. Graphics, Animations & Performance

_ Make the "Terrain" and "Details" setting actually work.
_ Improve the lighting/shadowing system in Ultra! (shadows draw further, small objects ALWAYS cast shadows etc.)
_ Make the game less "yellowish", or at least let us add some blue in it through the menu XD
_ Roach animation (or the camera?) stutter when trotting.
_ Geralt's hair still moving inside houses from time to time.
_ The funny walking peasant carrying the boxes lol.

These are improvement I PERSONALLY think would be awesome. And I am surely leaving some.
THANK YOU FOR THE MASTERPIECE YOU MADE CDPRed .
I am enjoying the h*ll out of it, even with the little annoyances here and there.

The inventory needs separate tabs for each and every category and icons where you select panels, not little dots. I find it hilarious they hired the modder who added the much need icon filters for TW2, and then those very things are absent in TW3.

i would like to have my collection of books. I would like to have, my collection of potions, my collection of herbs, my collection of witcher missions and notes and best beers and god knows what.

But when I visit a merchant I cant even tell if what he has is something I have, or if I do I have to search for it for eons. No order, no way to nicely get around. Can be easily sorted in two ways.

1) option to sort items by category in the inventory if possible even naming categories by yourself, thus you are the one deciding how many you need.
2) like locations, houses, perhaps even to buy them, or chest or whatever, where you can also store items.

Does not matter what, but as it is, it's taking away from immersion, from fun is tedious hard to get around and so on and on.

P.S. would be really nice if there were books describing where certain herbs grow in a way of glossary like you have for character and bestiarity

Please as most of the gamers saying modify inventory panel & make it more user friendly. I have created image for inventory panel check it....Try to add read / unread indication for Books & Notes.

Inventory goes like this..

Vertical Navigation - Horizontal Navigation

Weapons - Steel Swords / Silver Sword / Secondary weapons

Armor - Light / Medium / Heavy

Tools - Reapir Kit / Rune stones

Combat Items - Potions / Oils / Bombs

Alchemy - Food / Drinks / Plants / Monster Items / Mutagens etc

Readable - Notes / Books etc

Quest Items

Junk Items

Please don't worry about the item description in inventory image as previously there is a beast oil image which i edited with sword & I don't have description for sword as well Its really not important thing :)

If we do get extra storage in 1.07 (or future patches) I'd rather not have a single [or multiple] location storage container to put our items in but, rather, have all containers currently in the world become storage. How it potentially could work is when looting a container out in the world will give you the small loot panel (just as we have it now) but if the player shift+clicks it'll open in an Inventory Mode that the player can now interact with like it's a merchant window. Smaller containers could have room for 20 small slots (squares), larger containers could have 60 slots and chest [variants] could have 80 through a 120 [just to throw out numbers for the example].

That would be my preference instead of storage container(s) at specific, dedicated, enforced location(s).

Well, its my first post here, and i saw many great ideas. The only thing i came here to ask was for a button so we could organize inventory by type, putting the same itens near each other, making it easy to see what we have.
