I must be blind as a bat because i haven't really come across any major issues, trivial bugs are trivial and i couldn't be bothered to waste precious brain cells on them. I know its impossible for a open world rpg game to be flawless on release anyway, so i was prepared for that. The game is still overwhelmingly fun at least in my terms so i'm hardly distracted.

Milage varies I guess. The game freezed 5 times on me, that required me to do a hard reset on my PC (hold the power switch for 6 second) . It must be windows XP days the last time a game required me to do this.

I find coming here and participating in some of the conversations helps. Even if you are still talking about the game, it gives you a break from actually playing it :)

I don't know...I have an overleveling problem, although I have done a few higher level quests, mainly main story quests.

Now I have so many areas in Velen I got no quests from, I am level 11 soon I'll get no experience from level 6 quests, and maybe there are lower level quests than that.

I started doing whatever I wanted and now I am doing the quests based on their level so I don't miss exp, it's annoying.

Skellige is not the end of the game, if it's your first time there, not even remotely. And if it is your second time there ... just continue the story, you can always come back to the side missions after the main story is over ... or start another playthrough - which is probably what I'm going to do. On a second playthrough you can try another build and make different decisions in a lot of the quests, so you'll see different outcomes. It is silly to prolong the game at the cost of fun - that makes no sense whatsoever. If you are not having fun doing the side stuff, do the main mission

Yeah, that's what I just did, and it feels great again.
And I'm further into the game than you think. I...
already found Ciri, killed Imlerith, and now I'm gathering the sorceresses from the Lodge.
I didn't do too many of the side quests in Skellige - actually I've barely explored it -, because the main story felt more urgent. Now that I did the more important side quests and main quests in both areas
- the coronation in Skellige, for example -
, it just didn't feel right not to continue on the main path.

And honestly, if other open world games I've played are anything to go by (GTAs, AC games), then I doubt I'll have too much fun doing side stuff after the main story. We'll see, but most probably I'll start another playthrough and do more side quests before chasing the main storyline.

Its even more of an issue when you go to Novrigard. You met alot of main NPCs, & you will want to do these side quests, & some of these quests chain one after another, same with main quests. I was level 18 when I left for Skellage(recommended is 16), & a few side quests left over that I just cannot do as I am already overlevel.

Went to Skellage, gain level 19 after some talking in the main quest. Then just following the main quest line, & I was asked to do a level 12 main quest! No XP after completing...

I do not mind as much, but this is just poor design. If the recommended level to go Skellage 16, why are some quests over there well below 16?

I can't say I am bored, and I have done every single side quest I could find, sprinkling in the main quest when I felt like progressing. I am level 24 and only about to gather allies. Most of the ? are now gone and dusted bar a few out between the isles. I still have to finish the fist fighting in Skellige and Novigrad and other than that, it will be mostly main quest from now on. When i felt like I was getting bored, I would leave off for a day, then after coming back I'd do something else and that way, the game has been a constant fun for me.

What do you mean? You can't even get the quests or they don't give you xp?

Because if you lose the chance to get them due to leveling, then I'll just go around the world and get everything before I start doing them.

God, I wish I had the time to play it that much.

You do hit this point with lots of games, for me especially open world games. SO far, not W3, but I consider it one of the best games, maybe the best, I've ever played.

I liked SKyrim - hit that point. I loved Fallout New Vegas - hit that point. I really like Pillars of Eternity - hit that point.

I guess all my very favourite games, I never did hit that "Hmm.kind..of...bored now.." point.

Planescape Torment, nope.

Fallout 1 and 2, nope.

Vampire Bloodlines, nope.

Deus Ex Human Revolution, nope. (and DX1, of course)

Witcher 3, so far nope.

Pretty much the same here. Except for FO:NV. That is a "nope" for me. (FO3 OTOH............................ zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.)

IMO, the world should have been smaller. I think they made the world huge just for the sake of being bigger and better than Skyrim. If they made the world smaller they could have done more with each town. As it is, most of the towns are pretty much lifeless. You go there, go to the notice board, get a quest or maybe two, buy some cards at the tavern (if they have one) or shop (if there's a merchant/blacksmith) and then move on. If the map was smaller, there could have been more to do in each town. The size of each town could have been bigger, with more quests, and more people to talk to. It would have worked much better.

I was level 22 when I went to Skellige, so don't feel bad; but I just turned up the difficulty so I'd feel challenged on the missions and areas that were underleveled. I think they recommend level 16 because there are a lot of areas in Skellige with higher level monsters. But don't worry about doing missions and not getting xp for them because you've outleveled them - if that's your concern - because:

Here's something they don't tell you earlier in the game! Near the end of the game they dump a huge ammount of XP on you to level you up, so not getting xp because you've outleveled some missions earlier on is not a big deal!

Instead, focus on having fun just doing the stories and adjust the difficulty if you have to in order to make that happen. If the concern is you're just skating over missions because no matter how high you raise the difficulty you're just too baddass; skating through a mission quickly from time to time just to enjoy the story isn't really that big of a loss, is it? It gives you a chance to focus more on the tale telling and to hit those really strong monsters along your path while you're running from one mission to the next.

Four seems like a bit much for right now. Two for sure, then I'll wait until the expansion comes out in October and probably play through it again; then wait for the next expansion and probably play through it again at that point. So four in total, and ultimately probably more than that, but I doubt I'll do more than two in a row.

I can honestly say I have not had a single issue mentioned in that entire paragraph. Most complaints I see about leveling are that it is too fast and your quests end up being too low level and easy. Roach follows the road just fine unless I manually steer him off of it. I'm not saying the game is perfect by any means. Two weeks after release it still has it's quirks as well as flat out bugs that still need to be worked out like every other game, but it comes down to this:

If you are enjoying it, great, keep playing. If you are not, do something else. I doubt that replies on a message board will inspire you one way or the other.

This. gamers are so insecure they can't handle that their subjective opinion might not be shared so they seek reassurance from the net. Please agree with my subjective opinion world! pretty please?

I'm still waiting for NewGame+ , but if bugs dead and bugs grow patch after patch, when are they gonna add something new. Or developers can multitask and not bugfixing all day ?

It's called having a conversation. You share your opinion, others share theirs, you discuss it... quite an interesting activity.

I play on Blood & broken bone. I can turn up to Death march, but I do not think it make a huge impact as combat is only like 1/3 of the game. I spend more time traveling & talking. In fact , I could spend more time looting than fighting.

I am a completist, but I just can't do 1/2 the monster contracts as I probably be way overlevel for the main quests. I spend more time on side quests of main NPCs, triss, Yen,Delilion, as they are far more interesting, & drive the story. I probably do some bountries later (greyed) for the story.

I enjoyed the game for for its narrative/story. I do get a bit burned out, &/ I think I can play about max of 3 hours a sitting. I already put 75 hours into the game.

I lost my focus on the main quest. Runs around searching for loot and worthy foes instead.
