Is Dandelion's voice actor that bad?

I've heard from people of the internets that Dandelion's English voice actor is bad. He's dull and not what people thought he would sound after reading The Witcher books. One of these opinions is in this review (13:00). I really can't tell because I was playing with Polish voiceover and he's great there. The reason I'm creating this topic is to bring CDPRED's attention to this issue.

What's your take on this, folks?

Yes, I believe he is one of the weaker ones although he was better in the 2nd compared to the first.

His voice is fine but he should have better animations and gestures.

If CDPR gives him an accent it just ruins his international charm, that he's famous in the northern kingdoms.

I don't mind Dandelion as much as I mind Triss in the early parts of The Witcher 2. I know Geralt is *supposed* to sound flat, but Triss? I think TW1 Triss was better.

And honestly... I prefer Geralt in Polish and even German.

I think Dandelion's voice is good but you know that's just personal opinion.

You like the German voiceover of Geralt? Are you serious?

I preferred TW2 Triss personally. When she says 'Geralt' it sends tingles down my spine.

I would say Letho had the worst voice actor, Dandelion atleast speak fairly rapidly, Letho's sentences often just drag on for ages for no good reason, and it dosen't even seem like he puts any tone in his words sometimes (for example when you first talk to him in act 1)

The only and real bard Jaskier is Zbigniew Zamachowski:

Dandelion in Witcher 2 was pretty good and Triss' voice acting in Witcher 2 was one of the best I heard in any game . She speaks so politely , I also love Geralt's English voice actor Douge Cockle , he have done amazing job in 2nd game . First game had OK voice acting but 2nd game was among best .

It depends on opinions . I my opinion Letho was best , his voice had some kind of deep and mysterious feeling just like his character .

There's a great harmony between his voice, character and appearance. all are ridiculous, disgusting, full of shit and . . .
if I had the option, I'd gladly left that pig to hang in Flotsam !

I think that's exactly as it should be. his actor makes you feel a senseless man with no fear in front of you.

I couldn't agree more.. I never liked Dandelion in the games, not in the first neither the second one. In the books though it was very different, he had his awkward characteristics but that's what made him interesting. The best one though was in the series, after I watched it I simply liked him very much and personally I'd much rather prefer that Dandelion than the one in the games, it's just my opinion (and I think that the voice actor of Dandelion is doing a decent work).

in all respect to zamachowski but he was bad dandelion/jaskier, and what i mean is his appearance, dandi should be elf-like heart breaker rather than dwarfy little fatty klutz, meh... what i dislike in english version is that actor act dandi like totally jerk and idiot, problem is also in writing him by cdpr, dandi from books yeah was funny and behave like selfish rich kid but mostly he was very intelligent, and unfortunately its last adjective i would describe dandi from games....in game he is just goofy nothing more or deeper, stupid comedy break with no more meaning , and thats why people dont like him very much

I personally really don't like his voice. It sounds very bland and monotone, making him sound like a cheap voice actor when compared to the other characters (no offence to the person behind the voice).

The writing for the character is really good though, so I guess it can carry him. I doubt we'll see a new voice actor for The Witcher 3, so best to just learn to like him.

In TW1 at least. It was cheesy but had character.

My favorite is Polish Geralt in any case. And Triss, I like her *voice* in TW2 but I think that voice actress is terrible!

Jaskier is fine but yeah, played like an idiot. I hope there will be some smart, funny and musical moments in TW3.

A decent performance as far as voice-acting goes, if a bit bland, but both he and Triss' ditto fall under that category of the 'weaker' voice-overs in the English version. Altogether, it's more than fine, but when you compare it to the much more animated performances of the Polish cast, for example, it's a different matter.

Do English voices from The Witcher 2 match their personalities from the books? This review brought an interesing point. You can feel Dandelion's vibe from the books and in the games it falls flat. I guess CD Projekt RED should interfere some more with voiceovers. They did an amazing job with the Polish one and should do the same for others, especially with English.

I think Dandelion's voice is good but you know that's just personal opinion.

He may sound good in general but does the voiceover match his character from the books?

Well, how any voice matches some personality is very subjective. Personally, Dandelion's voice is a great improvement comparative to TW1. All in all, I like it. It may be not as good as some other voices, but it is like comparing good to great. If it is possible to improve it in TW3, fine by me. Though, to be honest, I prefer to be consistent, and have the same actors in TW3 as in TW2.
