Looters prey on the weak. Wounded soldiers are in the most vulnerable state. That's why it is a war crime to kill them

Didn't Nilfgaard take the North by suprise and they obviously kill civilians in Outro of W2, aren't those war crimes as well?

Like Geralt said "if he has a choice between two evils, he rather won't choose at all".
So why does he make a choice in the end ?

Because no one compelled the Emperor to invade these lands?

Well, in Flotsam he did not kill Temerian soldiers who wanted to hang Malena. That would be totally crazy. So why does he suddenly change? It is the same damn situation.

The Temerian soldiers only wanted justice for their missing comrades and they didn't rape and hang Malena outright before hearing her out. She probably would've gotten away with it since the soldiers seemed a bit lazy and afraid of the monsters.

Malena is not in a war land, she could chose if betraying soldiers leading them to a real execution. There's no way the same.

In Flotsam Geralt had the chance to find out what truly happened.
Also, the Temerian soldiers weren't abusing Malena.

So, war criminals in real life, who killed wounded soldiers, are not really criminals, because they did it in a war zone? If it were a man, and not a woman, would you be as sympathetic? But, you know, there is no gender bias in a war zone, and women can cut throats with the best of them. Gender equality - equality in responsibility.

No, I would not, simply I do. Believe me, I do.

Even more, I'd bet that CDPR' scripts chosed a women insstead a man because a majority of players are males and they DO would a difference between man or woman in danger. Don't tell me about equalities of gender here. Not to me.

Firstly, soliders or not, Nordlings or Nilffgardians - those man were sadists and that alone makes them deserve to die. You don't know what that woman did, but you see what those man are capable of. Isn't it enough?

And "Death by hanging OR torture" does that sounds like legally valid sentence?

Well, in this case, in order to be consistent, Geralt should kill them all. I do not care about Geralt killing soldiers, I am concerned about him letting a woman go. If they all are evil, and he says he does not choose, why a hell did he let her live???

Because he acted on the moment. He is not a judge - nor he tries to be. Maybe that girl with ashy hair resembles someone he care about, someone he remembered recently? Why do you think he acted rationally?

That's what Yennefer said about Geralt:

"I know him. He'll get confused, lost in his own philosophy and wallow in self-pity. He'll vent his anger and hack at anyone and anything comes across. Then, in expiration, he'll do some grand, but pointless deed. In the end, he'll be slain, stupidly and needlessly, with just a stab in the back."

The Geralt you see in this CGI acts as canonical one from books. Your Geralt acts differently - and that's the beauty of interactive entertainment.

The problem with that is that nobody in TW world is truly innocent. It makes me wonder how your playthrough of the game will go, hundreds of dead npc`s maybe? There is no evil or good, only grey.

Actually, it is exactly what he is doing - he is judging who deserves to live, or who deserves to die. In order for me to make sense, he either should kill them all, or just move along, and let it play out without his intervention. Or may be kill a woman fast to spare her suffering. To let her go is stupid and bad, because more people would die. She is no less monster than the soldiers, so why to kill one monster, and let the other loose in the world???

You're focusing on one sentence and missing the point of my post.
