Is it easier or harder to move up the leaderboard as the season goes on?

On one hand the weaker players work their way up, but on the other hand maybe players tune their decks and make a last-minute push. Basically right now I'm ranked 4,000-5,000 globally and I want to qualify for the 10,000 rewards tier at 3900-4000 MMR, should I be worried or will I breeze through?

There are two opportunities to push through the ladder, the first one is waiting until the end of the season, like you've mentioned because "weaker" players have climbed the ranks. Another opportunity is when a new tier 1 deck emerges (usually because of streamers) and use that deck quickly before it becomes popular enough that players will expect it and/or run counters. In the end, it still depends on your own skills and the deck you are using.

What deck are you using? How difficult has it been for you to get where you are now?

I am also a little confused, if you are in the top 5k globally then you have already qualified for those rewards correct?

I've found it's easier towards the end. I assume that everybody who's already attained their goals (or given up) drops out, either to preserve their rank/position or to await the new season.

That said, I don't think I'm a particularly fantastic player and I don't recall ever ending a season below 3.9k and outside the top 10k (with the exception of that weird two-week season), so ... I wouldn't worry. Maybe check your position on the leaderboard towards the end if you're unsure, as that technically doesn't depend on mmr/rank.

Another good opportunity would be using challenges. They always fill the meta with the current best decks from factions X and Y respectively.

I find that the time of day you play is the strongest correlation..

If you log in as soon as the day timer resets you will face harder matches while at more obscure hours you can stomp noobs even at 4000+ mmr

I played a Moonlight deck up to level 19 and now I'm playing a veterans deck. It's been a challenging push after I got to ~3700MMR. Been playing tons of games this month

If I slack off and fall below 10k by the time the season ends, I won't qualify for the rewards, correct? Basically I want to know if I can just coast to victory or if I need to stay on my grind.

It sort of depends where you are on the ladder, at the top ranks people tend to chill out for a bit once they reached their goal (R21 for example) then near the end of the season they push really hard for the top 100 or 1k. Up to around 4k mmr people tend to be more consistent about ranking up due to the higher number of players and losses are not so devastating yet to your MMR.

Also assuming they end the season at the end of the month you have to keep in mind this month ends on a weekend so people will have more time to push near the end.

A little hard to tell but i think the season should only be going for about another week so I wouldn't stress about it much.
