Is it me, or does everyone have a raging hardon for romancing Judy?

This is a worrying trend im seeing lately here. The rest of romances can have lengthy discussions about the character, their hobbies, what they like etc. But for Judy threads its all either about her sexuality or threads demanding to change her. It's sad to see how she gets reduced like this. I just want to talk about Judy dammit.

I do have to admit maybe my response is bit misplaced in this thread. Since reading the title of the thread and OP it regards to people that want to romance Judy like the ones that wish desperately to change her sexuality for that purpose, and not necessarily people that love her as she is. And if so I apologize.

But again in such case the post would go towards underlining the sentiment so still okey prolly

Why don't you make the thread but make it clear it's not for discussing changing her sexuality?

As much as I would love to see such thread, it is understandable fear that it could be just hijacked to again divert towards it. Such a thread would have to emphasize that it would regard such posts as out of line or trolling and warrant to be ignored.

Judy appeals to the gamer who always wanted to go for the punk girl. I assumed they thought she'd be THE romance given she's the only punk girl in the game.

Panam is a wrench wench. Completely different.

I admit, I love the friendships in the game with Judy and Panam even if I'm not romancing either.

But with Goro?

Yeah. I can see why people want him as a option. But if you make him survive to the Hanako ending. He's still a POS. Because he happliy tells you to hop into Mikoshi. He goes right back to being garbage along with the rest of Arasaka.

Almost every big characters in this game their own stans, Judy & Panam arguably the biggest one for romanceable characters.
I would argue that many players actually would love to romance some other non-romanceable characters (yet?) because the characters in this game gave such strong impressions, such as:
- Goro Takemura
- Viktor Vector
- Blue Moon (US Cracks)
- Lizzy Wizzy
- Misty
- Claire
- Melissa Rory? (Mantis Blade Lady 2013 trailer)
I am sure there are some other more.

Also, I personally wish Meredith Stout have her own long arc AKA deeper "main" romanceable character as it clearly could open the Militech & more corpo stories/scenarios. She even have her own sweet small tattoo that could alluded to an interesting past. This is even unfortunate as She is the ONLY BISEXUAL option (canon) in the game hehe

You likely already know, but she makes an appearance in game in the quest "Bullets" (why yes, that IS the name of the song in the trailer!).

There also seems to be a lot of folks wanting to see more from the Mox bouncer at the front door of Lizzie's. I think her name is Rita? I scan her to get her name every time and forget it quickly.

I loved Judy as a character, and on my first playthrough I didn't realize she was a lesbian. During it, a number of characters seemed to encourage me pursuing more than friendship with her, which was weird considering it wasn't an option. That said, I really enjoyed the arc of it all, I was glad I could get to know her as much as I did without needing a romantic element, and the way that story ended was heartbreaking, but perfectly so for the game's noir vibe.

Fact: I wanted the option to flirt with characters even if it didn't lead to romance:

* Evelyn
* Jackie (because he loves Misty)
* Goro (he'd be confused)

And maybe even Hanako as a Corpo.

Goro! <3 Would have totally gone for him hahahaha

I'd argue Evelyn and Maiko are both people she cares about deeply. If you read Maiko's e-mail you also find out Judy is insanely jealous and actually a shitty girlfriend.

I found that real because rarely do you have a history of relationships before you with your game romances.

I always liked Leliana was an exception but she's still the gold standard for game girlfriends.

I mean you can leave with the aldecados with Judy and Panam. Nobody even screamed for a threesome like you could make work in those good old Leliana times ;-) Now that would be something!

I'm romancing Panam and it is a really sweet and lovingly writting romance, as good as any I have seen in games before.

If Judy is seriously even better, then I might just have to make a second character just to experience that!

Didn't like Judy that much. Ok, she shows V the braindance. After Evelyn insist. But then she is always asking for help, because V is a mercenary etc. And she often reacts hysterical.
What could V have done to help the person in the bathtub? - Nothing.
Can you carry the person to the couch? - Oh well, of course, thx for the call

I don't like helpless, female characters. Judy is a ... in german you would say: softegg or better "Lappen".
Panam has to much temper, but V can handle that.

(Team Triss btw.)

There's a difference between carrying a dead stranger to a bed, than someone you loved. People in these situations don't think logically. Obviously Judy called V in that situation, because V was the only person Judy trusted at that point and needed her support, seeing how someone she loved just committed suicide. I see nothing wrong with that.

Exactly. She called the one person who knew the situation about Evelyn and was a reliable friend.

As I said: She always wanted help, because she wasn't able to do something alone. I had the impression that V is reduced on his/her abilities as mercenary. In the whole game, almost every person. And Judy was extreme.
The only real friend V had... okay, you know what I mean.
At least P. knows how to handle a rifle AND a tank and a group of nomades. Wouldn't expect less.

Edit: I didn't played a female V but I don't know how CDP could handle the lovestory between Judy&V if she already was in love with somebody else.

Okay, then Panam also wasn't able to do anything herself, as she was constantly calling V for help, even though she had other people. Judy had no one, she called her only friend.

I didn't want to romance her, but definitely wanted more than just a "job's done, now pretend you're like my doctor or something and never bring it up again. Sure, you helped me a lot and learned a lot about what makes me tick and we had lots of deep conversations and I gave you my truck, but goodbye forever, I'm pretending this never happened!"
