Is it me, or is the Witcher 3 really toned down in the sex department? (sorta spoilers?)

Sex scenes in this game are almost as bad as the "let's blame everything on consoles" crowd. Sex scenes have always been frowned upon in movies/games. It's nothing new. That's why you have movies and games with explicit violence as rated 16+ and anything that shows boobs as 18+. That doesn't change the fact that teenagers always have and always will find ways to watch pornographic content they're not supposed to. I guess that must be consoles fault too and not the biased morality of our society.
It would actually make more sense that full frontal nudity is not displayed due to the bullshit pressures of radical groups blaming games and movies for objectifying women even though some PG games and movies have female characters that are only part of the story as eye candy or someone who needs to be rescued. In fact, our society has such fucked up morals that extreme and gratuitous violence is more acceptable than explicit sex. In case you haven't noticed, sex is a fundamental part of being a human being. Violence on the other hand is not. Most of the other animals in our planet don't kill for sport and tend to have a peaceful coexistence with other animals of the same species. We however do not and violence is so widespread you can see it anywhere.
So instead of blaming consoles for the lack of variety in sex scenes or frontal nudity in this game (and others) you should blame social media and society in general.
Even Witcher 2 wasn't all that great regarding sex and nudity with very few exceptions. Witcher 1 sex cards were a far better solution to this but that's just my opinion.

That depends on the country. Here in germany it's the other way around. Witcher 2 for example showed full frontal nudity and was USK 16.
The problem is that the USA are the dominant market and so they adjusted to their twisted morals.
I agree that it's completely ridiculous and I hoped CDp wouldn't go that way with Witcher 3. I also think it wouldn't have been neccessary. Witcher 2 had scenes, which didn't feel censored and the game still got the M17+ rating. (American rating agency determinating what a developer is allowed to show is another matter)
I mean when showing something like this

is less controversial than two people doing one of the most natural things than something is really fucked up.

Exactly my point, it doesn't seem to be so much of an issue here in Europe but i was talking more about US ratings for movies and games. Sorry for not making that more obvious.
Violence in games/movies is fine provided it's meant to show and emphasize how brutal wars/gangs/bandits can be, but having violence just for the sake of adding visual "eye candy" and i use that term very loosely here, is just plain wrong. A prime example being that MK video showing extreme violence just to add some cool visual effects to the game.

That's a pretty typical attitude in America - and yes, I am American. For some reason our country doesn't have problems with everyone carrying around a Glock, but if we see a boob in video games or movies, it might corrupt our immortal souls. Must have something to do with our puritanical roots.

Pretty surprised to see that sort of thing coming out of CDPR, though, since they are a Polish company. Use the freecam on Triss' sex scene in Wild Hunt - they took something that was much better, censored it, and then presented the player with the generic "I slide my hand down your back/ass animation" that @CoconutChriss referred to above.

I'm curious as to what you mean by better? Wouldn't the free cam just give you free roam on the scene they produced? Can you elaborate a bit?

I agree that it's completely ridiculous and I hoped CDp wouldn't go that way with Witcher 3. I also think it wouldn't have been neccessary. I am generally not squeamish but that is disgusting. This is acceptable but a natural activity like sex isn't? i just don't understand the mentality.

I completely agree with the OP. It was disappointingly toned down, especially Triss who had the stock animation as the prostitutes in Novigrad. Charming.

Damn, THAT is nice. I really hope that modders will correct this scene one day and show the awesome bits. It is not even necessary to use that direct camera angle... but show it in some way at least. Why did you do this CDPR, I don't get it.

Not sure how the PC version is but if the shadow quality wasn't utter shit on the PS4 we would have at least seen this at the end of the love scene. I think that's what they were trying to convey.

so is really the most wanted thing for 1.7 the inventory and such minor echantments? who many asked for them how many? 50 pages or more on that topics? the sex scenes part
and body models really suck bad and the quests are important eveything else 1.7 offers is ingnorable for me at least more sea contents coz its unfinished a one sexy and one one fearsome sea creature woulld be 8000% better than those 1.7 enchantments or fxied looting to be harder or with some danger in cities and not just grab anything and you are ok...

I am assuming this is sarcasm? Because the issues addressed in 1.07 are far more important. Something will come that will make these scenes better, i'm sure. And if not well they really aren't that bad anyway.

I'm not sure if there is more, to be honest. @abex81 is the person to ask. He/she posted it in the Triss thread a few days ago and used free-cam to capture it. I'm a console pleb and don't have access to such technology, otherwise I would check hehe.

Umm... a 3-some with Astrid and her mother? I highly doubt _that_ was ever planned. I think that line about preferring girls was more of nod towards book fans as I don't recall there being any hints in the game towards Ciris sexual orientation one way or another.
