Is Junk worth keeping?

In TW1, random items like rings, flowers, etc, could help you through quests. I wonder if junk items in this game have any purpose other than to make a few orens.

Their only purpose is to be sold.

and there value even if stacked is very low, so you won't get much even if u sell them. They are quite useless with no point as far as i see it, not even to make orens ... When u shop, its routine to check your junk and sell it off, might have picked up a few while you were adventuring.

You can add more flavour and purpose to the game with the Junk Dismantling mod. Pay a few orens to get rare raw materials.

Aye, it's great, and it shouldn't be incompatible with the new game version(s), either. Worth pointing out that this is a system that is already part of the core files (almost every item you find have a 'dismantle' tag on them), and was clearly intended to be used in vanilla, but clearly dropped at some point or another.

I never understood the need to have JUNK items. If you are going to sell them anyway and they do absolutely nothing then why are they allocating development time in order to implement them instead of giving the player some more orens in their place?

I don't find that they add to the role-play quality of the game and they do nothing at all. They are "potential money". Just give the money up front and be done with it.
