Is Mr. Hands the most evil and horrible character in Cyberpunk?

+
Well just a guess, but "for gameplay purpose and convenience" seems to be the most obvious reason. No need to seek some obscur or hidden reason" :)

Mr Hands being the only fixer V will have to call to move one of the main quest forward and so, even if V didn't visit Pacifica yet. So Mr Hands number must be added to V's contacts after leaving the Lizzie's bar. A bit like Wakako, except it's 100% guaranteed V already visited Japan Town and received Wakako's call, when calling her is required during the main quest.

The same goes when Mr Hands call V in Dogtown. It's just here to keep players aware that they're no longer stuck in the neighborhood and can enter or leave the area whenever they want.
Probably purely “for the convenience of gameplay,” Hands calls and offers the services of his netrunner to parse the NCPD's database - right after Songbird runs away from V and Reed from the stadium, riight after the Firestarter mission.

Note: in the current version of the game, the player has the choice of whether to call Hands or not - however, in earlier versions, Hands called on his own - as soon as V leaving Reed's “Merrimack” :

( :D Here, incidentally, one can conclude that Hands never allows himself to interrupt Myers' conversations lol)

Also, the convenience of the gameplay should explain the fact that Hands has a pass ready on the table for V in Dogtown—by the time the mercenary leaves the building on Kress Street and goes to call Reed—although Songbird herself claims that creating such identification documents would require a bottomless coffee pot and 24 hours of work, which is why she sends the mercenary to Dogtown via an abandoned parking lot, where V risks falling into the abyss and breaking his\her neck at any moment.

Hands doesn't need 24 hours and coffee. The shuttle lands in the evening in the sunset sky of Dogtown, and in the morning the pass is ready, even though Hands “knew nothing in advance about V's appearance on the territory.” But the pass is already there.

Well > fixers...
Hands is in Dogtown for who know how long and most certainly have plenty of connexions everywhere in the neighborhood. For example, some people who in exchange of a couple of eddies would keep Hands informed for any new person they spot in their area (way cheaper and efficient than any form of technology^^).
So we can fairly assume he get the pass in some way or another and kept it because he would have some use of it one day.

Take Rogue... Managed to find Hellman in a day. Managed to crash down joroujin satellite. Wakako managed to have access to the full placement of Arasaka security in place for parade.

Fixers are well known, have money, are in place since a long time and most importantly know who call, who to threaten or who to pay for the task they need. Fixers are among the most influent people in Night City.

So again, no need to seek very far. Mr Hands is "just" a fixer, that's all. Personally I don't see why he would even want to work with or for the NUSA, sounds quite stupid :D

Indeed, why?

Just one example:
We do know the fact that Hand's netrunner is well aware of a certain convoy transporting the captured netrunner NUSA—which means that Hands knows about it too—as well as the whole story with Songbird and Myers.

And since, like any good fixer, he has eyes and ears in Dogtown (!), he can probably determine the location of V and the person rescued after the shuttle crash quite accurately, can't he?
But he has absolutely no desire to sell this information to Hansen or, say, Arasaka )) Unlike many other his colleagues .

Or we managed to find an exceptionally moral and altruistic fixer - here, in Night City, what we can congratulate ourselves on!

(Incidentally, even Hellman knows practically nothing about the BlackWall) - but Hands knows, as can be seen from his correspondence with Bennett. He knows about the bunker under Dogtown, and he knows who worked in the facility as well.

He is also familiar with the Cynosure project, one of the most secret projects of the NUSA. Moreover, while Hellman is afraid to say a word too much about the project, Hands freely uses information about it in conversations with third parties - for example, with Yoko. Or Bennett.

Furthermore, when discussing serious matters, such as decrypting algorithms from the Cynosure bunker, Hands' netrunner prefers to communicate with V only after his biometric verification—which is natural, since Hands knows about the existence of technologies for forging identity through “facial implants” and uses this technology himself for his own interests as well.

In short. Two simple questions:

1. Which of the Night City fixers has free access to information about the BlackWall and the Cynosura project, the most ambitious and top-secret venture of Militech, Netwatch, and the NUSA?
2. Which of the fixers of the Night City has access to the top-secret "facial morph" technology used by FIA operatives and their sleeper agents to conceal their identities?

( Besides Mr.Hands, I mean) :)

Again, Mr Hands is a smart, wealthy and well informed fixer who works in Pacifica since years. A neighborhood in which there is a "cold wars" involving NUSA, Hansen and Arasaka since years. A neighborhood in which there is a constant "cyberwar" involving Netwatch and the Voodoo Boys, the most skilled gang when it comes to netrunning in Night City, both well aware of the blackwall and all kind of secrets.

Mr Hands would be a poor fixer and wouldn't last very long as a fixer if he didn't know the forces and "secret" schemes in his own neighborhood.

So I can ask the same question...
Which fixer in Night City can crash down an Arasaka sattelite at will? Which fixer can get all Kang Tao transport deatils in a day?
Only Rogue can... But it doesn't mean she actually works for any of these corporations.

Which fixer in Night City can get access to the Arsaka security deployment for the parade, something which I guess is quite secret?
Only Wakako can... But again it doesn't mean she works for Arasaka.

Well, you can try to push everything to prove your point, but in my opinion, it make no sense at all that Mr Hands is somehow working for NUSA. He's simply a fixer, that's the only reasonable explaination.

PS : Why would Hellman would have any knowledge about the blackwall? He's just an engineer who worked on the relic :D

The satellite was shot down by Alt Cunningham :D

The Arasaka parade is held every year, regularly, and it gets on Wakako's nerves annually
Plus, Yorinobu doesn't care about his sister's safety during the parade, as Smasher and Oda openly discuss.

Well, yes, initially he was creating a data card, but what he ended up with was a hellish modem:

-"Hallo! This is Songbird!"
:LOL::D:ROFLMAO:

Moreover, the difference between say, Rogue and Hands, for example, is that V and Reed successfully infiltrate Black Sapphire (having Hand's data),
while during the flight to Arasaka Tower, Rogue's aircraft falls under rocket fire and is shot down (by chance).
different approach, different leagues I d say...

Well, if even foreign intelligence agents openly acknowledge Hands as a professional, what else do we need to know about him? )

Nope... Rogue did, with "acquaintance at Orbital Air" help and Alt netrunning skill.... But still without Rogue "acquaintance" who is "paid enough" to provide an access, Alt won't be able to hack the satellite ;)

Oh yes, because at Arasaka they are so dumb that they apply the exact same security mesures, at the same place every year... Not sure why, but I have some doubts :D

And one last sweet tidbit to top it all off :D :

Hands is the only fixer in Night City who apparently gets paid for his services... by the Black Wall itself ))

If V goes “the Reed route” in Firestarter and, after turning in Songbird, later emerge from the bunker with the Canto or Erebus schematics, Yoko and Hands’ help in decoding the Cerberus core component code has ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR by the time V reaches Kabuki and Yoko’s shop.

Paid by whom? ))

Now live with it. :mad::LOL:
