Only you can decide if it's worth it mate. :hai:

I can't tell you how much you'll value it because I don't know what you like or your financial situation. For me personally, it's not worth it. It's not that I don't think it's good, it's just that I'm still in school and don't have a job. As a result I tend not to buy most games till their heavily discounted, (It's only for the Witcher 3 that I'm making an exception) nevermind a £100 collectors edition, or whatever it costs. Out of the question for me unfortunately.

On top of that we only have a basic Idea of what the game will actually be like. The game might be total shit when it launches or it could be the best game ever created. And as far as I know you don't get the extra stuff until launch so there's simply no way anyone can tell you if it's worth buying. Sorry.

As a big fan of the Witcher series, and since I couldn't get Collector Edition for the Witcher 2, this Witcher 3 collector is totally worth it. You've got a big splendid Geralt fighting statue, a nice medalion, plus an awesome artbook. For me it's totally worth it and since it's the last part of the story, won't be other chances to get a collector.

Like J1mb0b said, only you can decide. If you are a huge fan of the series and you have enough cash, it's worth it. Since I'm lacking on the cash department it's not worth it to me. I bought the GOG digital version instead. :)

Personally I bought two digital copies of W3, one on Steam and one on GoG, for me and my brother. So I don't see myself investing more money into W3 anytime soon.

But the statue looks really awesome.

I put Amazon on auto notify when the CE would go on sale when the game was first announced and I never got an email? Are they not up for pre-order yet as I do really want to purchase the CE.

I believe Amazon is sold out of Collector's Editions. You may want to check with them ASAP.

I just spoke to a rep and he said they haven't sold it before yet. I wonder if me being in America has anything to do with the availability?

If you are after opinions with this thread, heres mine.

The main attraction as I understand is supposed to be the Geralt figurine. I don't like figures. I simply don't see what makes them so valuable. If I can get them for ~ 30€ (considering the game costs 50€ and the other stuff in the CE is worth 20€) they are clearly not made of any rare material. Since there are probably at least 100.000 or at least 50.000 (because I doubt there will be less CEs, considering this game is aimed to sell multi million copies.) of them, you cant really say that they have exceptional value to collectors. The sheer number also means they are not handmade, but produced by machines. Even if they get painted by hand, then this would be clearly done by workers, who don't have any special connection to the figure. It is not like the artist who designed this figure will paint them all by himself. So it is just a good looking desk accesoire. There are not many people in my life who come to my desk to admire the art that is placed on it and i find myself often too busy to reflect on these masterpieces. Long story short I have absolutely no interest in the figure, just as I had and have no in the bust from the TW2 CE.
Nevertheless I lalways consider purchasing Special Editions and I also preordered the TW3 CE on Amazon anyway - on Day 1. Why you ask?
Because the other stuff that this Edition contains is absoluetly worth it. The Artbook alone would justify the price and Steelbooks are always nice, not only for looks but also for sustainability. One day in the future I might gonna get into the mood to reinstall The Witcher on my Windows 25 and replay it again. When this day comes it would be nice to find a high quality box in the book shelf with flawless data carriers inside.

But the main reason is that I just need completion in my life. I want the whole package with everything that it contains, just to make sure I get the full experience.

CDPR is special though. Since there are no DLC or extra game content involved in this case and looking at how good even the Standard Edition of TW3 is stocked, I might cancel my preorder. So keep checking Amazon Germany for the currently sold out CE, they might get one copy back.

No, the rep seems to be misinformed. There was a long thread here about availability in various countries, and a lot of people ordered from Amazon US. I think they had it right from the beginning. (I remember checking it in the first few days and was annoyed because, at first, they wouldn't ship outside the US).

Let's see what CE has that SE doesn't.
1. Figurine. A pretty useless dust collector
2. Medallion. Well at least this one looks 3D (not like that abomination from TW2 Xbox CE)
3. Steelbook. Well... Who doesn't like metal boxes to keep stuff in?
4. Artbook. The only really valuable thing here.
So... Is all that worth 178 euro? No. It's not even worth half that price. CEs is a HIGHLY overpriced thing and developers should wake up from whatever wonderlands they are in with these ridiculous prices.

I second that, it's wayyy too overpriced... 178 Euros is just a ridiculous price for that, IMO.

However - I disagree with the "dust collecting statue" statement. A well made statue like this can really make your room look even nicer, especially if you are Witcher fan. I myself love collecting high quality statues and Im looking forward to buy W3 one, from someone and for reasonable price.

And we don't even get the "full" collector's edition...

Definitely not worth its price imo.
