Is there a torrent for TW2 EE patch?

I don't like the way this EE download is set up. There is no continue feature, it's just broken up into 286Meg segments from what I can tell. And I just can't have this download taking all my bandwidth for the 2 days it's going to take to DL the thing.

Torrent files can be paused at anytime with no lost of data and also can be capped to a given download rate. Times like this make me wish I bought the steam version, instead of a retail disk. Steam can be paused at any time, too. This thing just cancels the current file it's downloading if you cancel out of the program, and starts from the beginning when you restart it. It also refuses to share bandwidth with anything else, while it's active. A few hours ago Steam updated some source games and the download program popped up a connection error, because it timed out. So, it seems to hate sharing bandwidth with Steam, at least.

Does anyone know if there is a torrent version for this Witcher 2 EE patch?
Or can someone create one and seed it for a few days?

Since the downloader can be canceled and resumed, and it is not true that the downloader refuses to "share bandwidth" (it runs one connection, and any decent host can handle at least six), and the Edgecast servers are many times faster than any peer is going to be, I don't see any advantage.

It may appear that your downloader is not "sharing bandwidth" because the Edgecast servers are capable of filling your entire download bandwidth.

Why not go to GOG and claim your backup copy that`s already patched to the EE then download the extra content when and whenever you want .

The advantage for me is that I'd be able to play L4D without having to shut down the downloader, with a goal of stopping the program right after it starts to download a new file. My DSL is capped at 78kb/s, which makes it lousy for downloading stuff, but fine for L4D. Speed of downloading the patch is none of my concern.

Because I hadn't a clue that was possible and I've never used GOG, before. Shouldn't entering the CD-key into Steam work, too, then?

I'll probably end up doing this.
Thanx.

Hmm... this new forum doesn't have that coin rep thing.

In your case i would use an external downloader like idm and download the parts for the manual installation,i think you can set download cap too.

here are the links http://en.thewitcher.com/ee_manual/

Oh cool, that'll work.
I don't know what idm is, but I'll look it up.

Thanx for the link.

unrelated:
I wonder why I have 6 posts? I've only posted 3 times. And I remember having a lot more than 6 posts at the old forum. Weird.

You can use whatever downloader you wish, just make sure there is a download cap option. When all files are downloaded put them on the folder where the patch installation is and happy patching!
