I have been playing DragonAge on the PS4 and enjoying the game alot, when i look at this game it seems more hack and slash and less open and more of track based quest. It looks great though.
A month prior to its release and even a week or so after, I was quite willing to spend money and time on the game even though the previous two titles hadn't appealed to me. Armed with good will and better intentions, I watched every single official demo and stream and the more prominent Youtube LPs.
Someone over at NeoGAF described Dragon Age: Inquisition as aesthetically bankrupt. It's a harsh yet apt description. Alas, everything is tacky to the extreme, the world, the characters, the armour, the UI, the dialogue, those eye-gruelling highlighted outlines, the voice acting. It goes corny where corny had not dared to go before, a totalitarian kitsch odyssey where nothing ever feels organic, but rather overdesigned by a devout Jeff Koons' fan.
Why hasn't a lowly bandit raided them Ocularums, tear them to pieces to be sold in the black market? Why are Astrariums still standing in open air? This world has sub zero credibility. And even those reviewers who praised DA:I seem to be painfully aware the extent to which the game has been stuffed with uninspired fetch quests.
In summary, you enjoyed DA:I and that's perfectly fine. I'm not here to change your mind nor ruin your enjoyment of the game. Nonetheless, as for The WItcher 3 being similar, I hope not, not in the least. For every game design decision DA:I took, I hope TW3 flees in the exact opposite direction.
