It's normal for my computer to choke in chapter 3? I.e. 0-1 FPS for a second

Topic.Also, will I be suffering this problem for the rest of the game? I don't see my computer specs as a problem:WinXP 32 bitPatch 1.2E2180

Well, i advise you to install all patches, new drivers (or even omega drivers) and new directx. Your hardware configuration seems better then my, but i don't have such problems.

Yeah, omega drivers and patch 1.2 are installed. Hopefully it goes away in later chapters. It's pretty annoying

Ya chptr 3 does have slowdowns for some odd reason.. even after patches....don't see slow ups again until chptr 5
