wait there are also border rewards, how do you obtain them ?

It's not in the regular challenge, go to your "general" contracts, and there are 5 contracts to complete for each faction challenge.
After, 3, 5, 10, 15, and 25 you will receive some rewards. At 5 you get a title for your faction, and at 25 you get a border.

Currently I'm at the last faction chalenge but it seemed that the counter resetted

The last challenge can be repeated for more points. Maybe that's what's happening?

I stopped after repeating the last challenge about 3-4 times. It's not helping Northern Realms anyways.
