Just a few Questions (and why is there no Shani in TW2? :( )

Hi everyone. I have to confess, i just finished my first playthrough of TW1 and enjoyed it in great parts :) Collectors Edition of TW2 also already is pre-ordered! I just love the goodies like dice and card games, also efter the Dragon Age 2 Debacle i have high hopes that at least Witcher 2 will be a real rpg and not an "awesome" button mashing.Anyways, since my Geralt had Shani as Love interest and it was mentioned that you are able to import desicions to TW2, i naturally had high hopes of seeing her again in TW2. Now i had to read that she won´t have any appearance, which would be an aprubt end for my relationship .. now i was wondering how the desicion transfer will work at all? Is there any example beside the money and weapons? Also - will the character models be more different from each other? One of the few gripes i had with TW1, was that every second NPC looked the same like the one before (for example Odo, Deuslevan and the Butcher on the street all had the same build.. ). From the vids i couldn´t really see if this has changed.Last but not least - i pre ordered the store CE, because i´m a sucker for "real" stuff, but i would have liked to register it on steam anyways. So is it possible to register it or is this only possible for versions bought via steam?thx for any answers :)

I thought Shani WAS going to be in TW2!

it didn't fit the personal story of geralt. shani was never really a serious thing for him, triss and yennefer are more crucial to his story and have major impact on his life. yennefer died, so naturally triss was the most viable choice.creating too many love options mean diluting the depth of the relationship. in witcher 1, this resulted in shallow sex card minigames.thanks.

This. Shani wasn't anything special at all and sending Alvin with her definitely made less sense than with triss. I'm sure if you don't like triss you'll have another option.

triss has been by geralt's side since the start of TW1, helping him with his goals and aiding the witchers in general. she also saves his life multiple times.shani? ok, she's a nurse. and.....hm. i'm coming up with a blank here. hell, even abigail shows more involvement than shani. i don't have anything against her, but in terms of importance to geralt and general regard for his goals and life, she's rather disinterested, much more so than triss.

I understand what everyone is saying about Triss, that she fits in Geralts world better, and also has been in his life longer. Because she is a sorceress she was the best option in taking care of Alvin. However we shouldnt disregard other peoples choices. CD project decided to put her in the game, and making her a love interest for Geralt. That shouldnt just be ignored. So I hope at least they offer some sort of in game explanation, to why she no longer is there.

I don't think Shani's disappearance demands an accounting, though I do think she was one of the most interesting characters in TW1. She was smart and brave and sexy and insecure and very human, and I will miss her in TW2.It's said outside the game that she later became a Dean at the University of Oxenfurt, so it's a reasonable supposition that she returned to Oxenfurt once she no longer felt needed at battlefield hospitals. And if she's not part of the TW2 narrative, well, she's not in need of a place in the game.

I think she should be mentioned, doesnt have to be anything big or anything. Especially if Geralt was in a relationship with her. After all its only two months after the end of the first game. Maybe in a conversation between Geralt and Zoltan or something. She might not have a role in the new game, but she did play a role in Geralts life.

Considering how ANGRY Triss got when I chose to leave Alvin with Shani it feels like it is an important decision and that it would matter further on. And it is not as if things settled so much she could just go back to the university. It smelled like war when I finished TW1.In any case I hope they have somebody other than Triss around. But I get the feeling Geralt could be a LOT like Conan. A womanizer who is always in the move from one place to another and from one woman to another.

Disregarding the people who chose Shani is not nice.

Im more of a Triss kinda guy,but I was pretty damn surprised to hear there would be no Shanni in TW2.She was afterall pretty big character in TW 1 afterall, and more importantly excluding her from the sequel is pretty much ignoring the people who choce her over Triss o.o.I just hope theres atleast some proper explanation to her absence for the folks who chose her in the in TW1.

Im sure you had every intention of paying for the game until this crushing piece of news forced you to reconsider :D.Funny the excuses you pirates make to make you feel....what,justified?And just in the slightest chance that you werent referring to pirating then the above is not directed at you,but rather the dozens of "oh I was Totally gonna buy it but because of X Im absoultely forced to steal it :(! " folks.Stop making excuses people and just admit youre a freeloading ___ (everyone can fill in the blank themself,I would hate to be rude afterall).

People like you just find excuses to pirate a game and also people like you that causes PC games being consolized and protected with the most draconian DRM.I wished that you were robbed of your food one day when you are very hungry.. Then you would feel how is it like being robbed.

I can't say I understand your rigid attitude. Is the whole game's worth reduced to one single character for you?

Thanks for explaining and who knows you might start playing and like it so much that you get a copy for yourself

Piracy is not stealing, it's making a copy. Which is far worse. If you actually "stole" the game from the store or from someone else, it's 45$ lost, if you copied it from a friend (can be played on 5 pc's simultaneously), nothing is lost, because the game devs allowed it, but if you uploaded a copy and/or cracked it, even potential customers who planned to buy the game when they could afford it or just the potential customers who saw downloading as an easier way (which it is) and such, are lost, and that's major money.I like how the ones who crack the game always write "if you like the game, buy it". What a load of horseshit.
