Just finished the Witcher 2...

***Possible Spoilers in this thread***

I just finished the Witcher 2 for the first time... I am an avid RPG player and I have to admit this was one of the greatest gaming experiences I have had, RPG or not.

My only complaint is the extreme rudeness of people always slamming doors in your face!!! Whatever happened to manners?? Only kidding. Amazing game.

I thought the last boss would be the big huge door, cause I've spent so much time fighting them in game :)

That's funny. I'm starting my 2nd play-through because I've heard people say that it takes at least 2 times through the game to get the most out of it.

Still... while I'm playing all I can think about is the Witcher 3!!!!

Yep at least 2 will get you both sides and different views to look at it from .

After at least 7 complete and another in the works when I have time that`s what I think about as well .

That's true Lennonisgod, just make sure you pick the other person for act 2. Whomever you sided with the first time, Roche or Iorveth, side with the other person this run for a whole set of new quests and story. Both Roche and Iorveth paths are pretty fun!

It looks like I'm going to side with Roche this time around and it's going to be hard for me to NOT save Triss... but I have to play the other way.

Glad you enjoyed the game mate!

As a result of playing two phenomenal games involving our favourite Witcher, RED has become my favourite developer and The Witcher 3 is the game I'm looking forward to the most, ever!

I loved this game so much I'm thinking about reading the books that are available. I never played the first Witcher because my PC could just BARELY run it, which made it unplayable... so are the books worth a read??

Thanks for all the replies btw and it's good to see the Witcher community is going strong!!!

And this is how it sucks you in. You'll find you really need to play four times to get the combinations. Welcome to the rest of your life

The books are very much worth reading . They introduce you to the characters you meet in the game and in most cases tell you when they first met and the circumstances for how they meet . It also gives very good insight to know that the people you meet in the game have a history with Geralt are are not just made up characters .

Haha yeah that's pretty much spot on! I'm just sitting here, reading the op, and nodding ^^ I'm smiling and thinking to myself "yeah man, been there, done that. Great feeling, experiencing something of such high quality and having a forum to express your gratitude and appreciation".

Plus, no fucking invasive draconian DRM, free DLCs and tons of updates and patches. It all seems a bit too good to be true! In fact... Hey RED, are you planning on taking over the world soon or something? Because I'm totally fine with that.

are they good??? they are piece of art, Reds wouldnt create that excellent game if not perfection of books, if u like witcher setting books give u everything u love in it and much much more , its hard to believe but geralt is even more awesome , dandelion more hilarious and hmm everything is "more", one minus u cant shape your story:( but we have game for that:):) try ours fan-made translation

The tone of the games is the same as in the books, but I wouldn't call them literary masterpieces. They are just different and very amusing to read.

The game has so many different combinations that you need to play it at least 4 times or more to really get everything out of it. I think I beat the game 8 times so far and I'm sure there are still some combinations that I've missed. However, I think 4 or so times would allow you to see every major combination if you make it a point to try them. Although after that you may try to get your "perfect" combination of actions ;)/>.
