Kayran fight not working with 1.3?

Basically I have downloaded and installed the 1.3 patch and its stuffed the game....the Kayran fight cutscenes dont work anymore and Im stuck.
(the Kayran never collapses the bridge so it cant be killed)

Am I missing something(this is my third run)or has this patch simply ruined my game?
Its bad enough that its increased the difficulty of all the fights but now it seems its actually completely broken the game.
Hopefully Im missing something simple but either way Im pretty annoyed that a $80 game doesnt work anymore :(

I played the Kayran fight with patch 1.3 on two different computers last week, no technical problem with the cutscenes or QTEs or any other part. So it's not broken for everybody. There would be a lot more irate posters if it were.

See other threads here and on gog.com for suggestions on how to fix graphical problems that arose after installing patch 1.3. They aren't problems that affect everybody. Unfortunately, there aren't one-size-fits-all fixes for them either.

Hmm..I suspected this as I seem to be the only person with the problem.
Its weird as Ive killed the Kayran twice before and i know exactly what Im doing...basically when I ride the tentacle the Kayran doesnt destroy the bridge it just keeps repeating the tentacle riding QTE indefinitely.

Anyway thanks for the prompt reply..I suppose i could re install and not use the 1.3 patch but it seems a bit dumb as it was patched for a reason.
I will try playing with the graphics to see if that makes a difference,I hope so.

Well the problem is solved...guynwah's suggestion worked.
I simply altered the graphic settings(turned off blur and motion blur)and the cut scene triggered correctly..no idea why it would make a difference but it seems to have worked and thats the main thing! :)

Back to witchering :)

Just a word of (possibly) explanation.
1. QTEs are linked to performance. When your machine has trouble processing the game and struggling for FPS it's more likely that the input during the QTE won't be registered in time.
2. In the patch 1.3 the black letterbox for non-16:9 resolutions was removed. For all those resolutions it's more pixels for your system to process. Effectively it's like playing with a higher resolution. Cue the inevitably worse performance (but more detail visible).
3. Disabling blur and motion blur simply cut the heavy load on your machine a bit. You could alternatively disable Anti-aliasing, SSAO or decrease LOD distance. Or fight fire with fire and decrease the resolution.
