There's nothing wrong with the design of the game. The boss fights are supposed to be difficult, and if you find it too difficult and aren't interested in putting in the effort to get past it, just lower the difficulty.windebieste said:Oh, I hated this section of the game. Just hated it...
I can fully appreciate why people refuse to play passed this point. Especially in a RPG where the real fun of the game is contained in the statistical manipulation of character development to resolve combat issues. All that careful customising comes to a screeching senseless halt for the sake of a single scene that acts as a road block to the player's narrative progression for the sake of a Quick Time Event that is really counter to the rest of the gameplay. Gah. If I want QTE's I'll go train on a typing tutor; or go I'll go play 'Jurassic Park - The Game' - and look how that turned out. QTE stuff = Fail.
All the same, after a couple evenings of miserable attempts, I vanquished the beast.
Thankfully, you can turn off the 'Difficult QTE's in the Main Menu > Options. This will make the fight a LOT easier. Especially if you've taken the time to figure out how to lop off each tentacle without walkthroughs and help hints. You don't need the nonsensical prolonged QTE rubbish as well once you've achieved that task - especially considering how difficult this boss is so early in the game. As far as I am concerned, that's the best way to do it.
On a related note:
What..? Sharing save game files across the internet so that someone else can beat it for you? No. That's not a sign of your inability to play the game. It is an indication that the game itself has a problem.
Stupid game design is stupid.
I feel the same way, except there are no cheats for the xbox. If I wanted ti die, die and die again I could go back to Dark Souls.hrehatschek said:Actually I developed my sword skills not the sign skills ... and I do not want to play all again ... casting spells with the hot keys does not bring me any further so far, quen is only active 30 seconds, sometimes less when I am hit. And when I cast Yrden, quen is gone, and usually then I am hit. I use sideway rolling all the time, but it is very hard and only by luck I do not get hit. Also I lose completely the directions when the game stops in between and shows a sequence of the bridge falling apart, when it returns, I usually get lost and run into the beast. After having tried it now nearly 200 times I will give up and wait for a cheat or simply delete the game ... sorry, but for such a sequence I have absolutely no understanding ...
