Many of these things can be resolved by editing the UserInputMapping.xml, hopefully this can be resolved with a future patch.

Just to add to this, I have always used Shift as crouch and Ctrl as sprint. Always.

As of about 10 hours in Cyberpunk has decided that, most of the time, sprint will be Shift and crouch with be Ctrl, no matter what I bind them to. Utterly crap, and seems I am powerless to do anything about it.

Like many other users I know, I am using the numpad for gaming. Please add support for all keys on the numpad.

Hassle-free configuration of the keyboard is elementary for an excellent game experience.

I stopped playing at the tutorial since I had to interact with the F-key all the time. Jumping between the numpad and the F-key is no fun. And since I payed the full price it shouldn't be necessary to edit xml-files to be able to play a game.

(But since I am a Linux user, I like your efforts in supporting gaming on Linux! (y))

I agree on full key remapping option! Especially the F key.

I would also like to remap buttons on the gamepad, I have an 8BitDo SN30Pro+ controller and it has the nintendo layout, I can force that in steam but then I can't swap BA/XY for accurate button prompts. Sekiro allows you to do that and it's great.

I have been playing with arrows for years. I try with the numeric keypad but it's a horror.
Unpleasant playing experience...

Thank you for correcting this problem.
How is it possible that on a game released in 2020 you can't remap the keys.

I find it amazing how fans and players are working so hard and so fast to be able to provide potential alternatives for these keybinding issues. It's like how Bethesda Game modders work hard to roll out patches and bugfixes in the form of mods to make the games less broken.

Wonderful.

But they shouldn't need to do it. Once I'm actually able to play the game I'm sure it will be one of the most enjoyable game experiences I've had since Halo Reach, but until then, I'll just stare wistfully in longing, in a sad, desperate desire to punch someone in the face with a cybernetic metal fist-blade.

Same problem here, cannot rebind the keys like I use in ALL other games and shooters I play. I will not relearn my playstyle because of some badly programmed keymaps... OPEN UP all keybinds for respec!

I am also a left handed player. This game is unplayable unless I can get the movement keys remapped to the arrow keys (and the F key remapped to someplace usefull). In modern times, for a "supposed" AAA title not to have this most basic feature is unacceptable. Come'on @CD Projekt Red add this or tell me how to get my money back.

[PC] does anyone know the keyboard equivalent of the Start button on the XBOX controller?

It brings up the menu where you can find your inventory. Can't find it in key bindings.

Here's what really blows my mind... in a company that big, with that long of development time:

Do ALL the testers at CDPR use WASD? If so, fire your entire testing department. Not a single tester ever expressed this as a problem?

If I was a tester working there; I would have spoke up years ago saying "Hey umm... I can't use the movement keys I want to use." It really makes me wonder about whether they even HAVE proper testing procedures in place.

I use a weird control scheme, esdf instead of wasd. I can't bind any keys to F other than exit vehicle. I always get an error saying there is an error binding to that key. I saw there isn't a choice the confirm key which is by default set to F so I'm guessing that is the issue.

it's not weird at all.

I'm using it ever since I learned 10 finger tiping back in 1997 and started gaming in 1998 when I was twelve. So I've gotten used to remapping every game to ESDF since. But Cyberpunk kills me ... as you can't remap to ESDF whatsoever.

Siema!
I can see that a lot of ppl are having keybind issues and I wanted to put in my experience on a couple.

  • I am not able to rebind the scroll up/down action to any other key, except for next/previous weapon.
    • Most games come with this keybind as default to those actions, but I always remap the scroll up to the first weapon slot and scroll down to the second weapon slot. So I can quickly flick my mouse wheel up or down and get the desired weapon.
  • The Crouch(Hold) and Crouch(Toggle) keybinds are bugged.
    • When I only use Crough(Toggle) in stealth games as I would be holding down the crouch button the whole game. I just prefer my Crouch(Toggle) to be CTRL and not 'C' like it is by default. I am able to make this change, but after just a couple of seconds the change comes undone. Even though I am able to go back in and reapply the change, it continues to undo itself. I usually would go in and unbind CTRL(Toggle) and save, bind CTRL(Hold) and save, and finally undo CTRL(Hold) and redo CTRL(Toggle) and save. This sequence would make it stay for some 5-10 seconds longer before undoing itself. Just changing the keybind once would not do the trick even, it would continue to stay broken.
      • I have a workaround for this, I was changing the bind for CTRL to Crouch(Toggle) and leaving Crouch(Hold) blank/empty. This was allowing the change back. Once I assigned another random key to CTRL(Hold), the CTRL(Toggle) keybind stayed permanent.
  • Quick Action Menu Keybinds.
    • Where are they? I am in dying need of redoing my inventory to TAB or something else other than I. These buttons are not even listed out in the keybind section so players are left to figure it out.

Love the game! I am going to be playing this for a long time. I just wish the keybind section had a little bit more polish, depth, and was less buggy.

Lol, this is assuming they bothered to have testers use keyboards at all. Seems to me testing was focused on the console version with controllers.

I don't know how true it is, but from what I've heard and read, it SEEMS that almost all playtesting was done with controllers.

I'm a lefty azerty player....

Z is the key I use to move forward, but it's also the default key to switch current mission objective.... so whenever I'm moving it switches the current mission chapter, means I can't even follow the map information that is also switching from a chapter to an other...

Also I use a razer left handed mouse and I can't reverse the clic in game so my mouse would behave like a normal mouse ( which is the setup I'm used to ). So frustrating. Just add this one config line please: inverse mouse click in menu " ...

Someone knows if this "change current objective" key can somehow be set to any other key ?

Thanks... so frustrating...let players set their key howhever they want... such an important part for a fluent experience in game...

Thanks CD Projekt Red. I waited so long for the game, even bought it on GOG to give you FULL support and you don't let me map my moving keys to the arrow keys but for vehicle you do? That is more than a punch to the face. As a lefthander I will not be able to play the game, except with a controller and since this is a first person game, I don't want to use one. The trick of editing the ini to the arrow keys, did not work for me, the game just says use "None" to move, so I can't move :(((((
