As someone mentioned before i can really advise you to use the mod :
Better Controls Menu.
Really simple to use, once installed, you can change all keybindings in the ingame-menu.
Just remember to avoid duplicate bindings.

Any chance that this will work with the gamepad too? I need to swap XY/BA buttons to play on an 8bitdo controller.

Soo they mentioned this in their official guide book -

The creators don't want you to play on Keyboard and Mouse because they never designed the game that way.

Thread topic should be changed to "PC Version does not support Keyboard and Mouse Control". It's pretty much official now.

Let me see if I can summarize this:

CDPR: "we want money from console & PC gamers. but, we want to force people to play on console OR use a console controller on PC - because reasons."

That sounds like the biggest pile of horse manure I've ever seen/heard.

So the real zinger for me is the fact that you open your inventory, journal, or map with one button but the same button doesn't close it. WTF is that?

If you do not want to change config files you can work with GlovePIE or SharpKeys

GlovePIE was the first thing I tried. Neither 0.43 (which uses DirectX 8 input) or 0.45 (which uses DirectX9 input) works with Cyberpunk 2077. A shame really, since GlovePIE is a very easy program to use.

There is so many issues with keybindings on Cyberpunk 2077 lets get in more details

- Missing Key binds

For some reason there is a few actions that you can't rebind, here is the list
  1. Hub ( i )
  2. Close/Cancel ( c )
  3. Use/Accept ( f )
  4. Map ( m )
  5. Journal ( j )
  6. Inventory ( o )
  7. Character ( p )
  8. Crafting ( k )
  9. Quick Save ( F5 )
- Unable to bind issue

There is an issue where you can't bind some keys to some actions.
  1. i, o, p, j, k, m, Up, Down, Home (can't be bound to "Exploration And Combat")
  2. Enter (can't be bound to "Vehicle" and "Exploration And Combat")
  3. F2 (can't be bound at all)
  4. F5 (can't be bound to "Braindance" and "Vehicle")
  5. F (can only be bound to general)
- Missing Key texture

When you bind "Numpad -" to some actions the key texture does not show (in game included) here is the list of all the actions where that key is invisible
  1. Call Vehicle, Radio, Horn
  2. Exit Vehicle, Skip Dialogue, Open phone
  3. Scan (hold), Use Consumable, Use Combat Gadget
  4. Cyberware Systems, Quick Attack, Aim
  5. Shoot, Crouch (Toggle), Jump
  6. Restart Braindance
Some keys have empty textures
  1. menu button
  2. numpad 5 (num lock off)
- Bad name

In "exploration and combat" the "Back" action should be named "Move Backward" to fit with the other move actions "Move" forward, left, right

- Feature ideas
Would be nice to have a "walk" key and a "Empty hands" key (to stop holding items)

As a left handed player i use the numpad the arrow keys and the right side of the keyboard to play (including home and enter) so not being able to bind these keys is frustrating it is also frustrating to not be able to rebind some keys like the inventory key and the use key.

I don't use the "W" as my forward. I use "J". But when I try to remap W to "J" says it failed and stays @ W. I am able to change the other keys, even the mouse.

Yeah those aren't "issues" that's intentional. They hard-locked several keys for...whatever silly reasons that are claimed. They want us to "Do what they tell us" or something, likely in relation to the game being designed and marketed for consoles and controller play rather than keyboard, it's basically screwed over most of the left-handed and disabled market. Or people like me who play with expensive M&K setups that use integral third-party software to work.

Not being able to rebind the "F" key function to some other button is almost a dealbreaker for me.. I keep hitting "E" to open doors, loot, enter vehicles and such. "F" is just messing my head up and I'm left with staring dumbly at my keyboard a lot when stuff isn't where I want them to be.

Also encountered a bug with binding toggle/crouch to LCTRL: when I restart the game the LCTRL still works like the normal hold/crouch. A rebind of both functions will make it work again.

So CDPR has issued a statement apologizing for the state of play on the PS4 and XboxOne. Not a word about cheating on PC gamers. Not a word about this serious problem. WTF? I am very disappointed :(

Hi!
As a left-hander I reconfigure the keys on all my games, so I'm very disappointed about the fact that I cannot do it in this game,
I mean some keys can be changed but not all of them:
for example: (AZERTY - french keyboard)
"F" (take items / grab in stealth + kill)
"R" (knock-out after grab)
"Z' (drink or eat)

It would be great if they make this possible in the next updates.

Might I add that this is very much a shooter, and that if you need to use a literal aimbot (auto aim) to play a game, then your control device is probably not the right one for the job. "Optimal play experience with game pad" my ass.

I am left handed too and normally I bind move forward on "P" and bind the rest around it. I have to play with a Controller for now which is very unfortunate. I dont understand why you cant bind everything as you like. It was possible in the Witcher 3 too.

I really hope they will implement more binding options with a patch but I am afraid it wont happen. There are not enough players with this problem.
