Hmmm...could it be? I left the lines slightly off the mark because the rider in the pic is small and they would hinder the point...

Yeah, I don't remember in which thread it was but people pointed out the same similarities and came to the conclusion that those riders are indeed Geralt and Vesemir.

I'm on the same opinion: This have to be Geralt and Vesemir! :D
And I'm really looking forward to the rest of the Kaer Morhen witchers. Hopefully their paths finally come together again.

I say they will still take 2 more weeks. And then Gamescom comes and the BIG thing is revealed there.

The E3 presentation will be behind closed doors at Gamescom aswell, so I don't think we'll get the "big thing" for quite awhile. They'll bring new info and assests to Gamescom though. I think it's healthy to lower your expections for 'Killing Monsters'.

The presentation will be behind closed doors, sure. But releasing a CGI "Killing Monsters" trailer, that is already done and was shown to journalists at E3 will not be too much, I guess?

Low chance of that happening imo, that doesn't mean I'm not hoping for it though!

EDIT:

Speaking of Gamescom, asked this in The Hairy Bear too, but is anyone going to Gamescom this year? A Witcher community meet-up would be nice!

It is a bit sad really, I know they want to limit the footage to the fans until they feel it is ready to be showed, but the press is seeing a heck of a lot more than the fans.

Didn't quite get this either, it's like we can't handle some alpha footage, but the people of "garming jurnalizm" can?

WE as fans who are on this site can probably handle it. We know it's alpha footage, it won't be perfect and it'll probably change somewhat by release. The general public isn't always as forgiving. CDPR are just being smart covering their asses. Besides, the game might be one year out, plenty of time for marketing. Articles are also still pouring in from CDPR.

You're right, my friend. :)

I'm fine with CDPR's policy.
After all they are making quite an effort to give us something each week, which means they haven't
forgotten about us but just can't show more at the moment.

Let them take the time they need to render the Ciri reveal trailer.

I mean...that's what they are working on, right ?

The very definition of journalism, including gaming journalism, is mediation between source and reader.

Now, why would you use the first person plural?
What makes you think there would be a sharp majority reaction around here - let alone a consensus - regarding the alpha footage? And what would you deem an appropriate reaction to alpha footage?

- edit -

As a tool to showcase TW3 to those unfamiliar with the series - a goal CDProjekt is blatantly pursuing - alpha footage doesn't cut it. I'd equate it to CDProjekt shooting itself in the big toe. Only pristine footage will ever do.

On the other hand, remember E3 demo's glimpse of Novigrad, which justly sparked a forum reaction and eventually led to an internal debate about the city's size?

Perhaps a dev team blog would be a nice compromise.

Speaking of Gamescom, someone at NeoGAF will attend the presentation and has created a thread to take in questions. Won't someone in the same position do the same around here?

That is indeed the definition of journalism. But would I need a gaming journalist when I follow the source so closely? Just saying it's a bit strange that all the info I get is from interviews scattered around the internet and not from CDPR themselves. Why would Mr. Ihaveagamingblog with 50 views a month on his site get more than a hardcore fan?

This is in no shape or form an attack on CDPR, in the end it's their game and they do whatever they want with it, this includes who sees it first. Was just questioning this approach.

I'm going, and I would be up for this but I am no gaming journalist so I doubt I could get in. The idea of someone representing the forum and directly approaching the devs with questions is amazing, would be nice if someone who frequents these forums and got in would pick up the task.
