I have to call you out on this again. Name one, two, three gaming journalists whose credentials you deem scarce. All in all, how many journalists were invited? What's the percentage of the alleged under-qualified?Kinl3y said:I know what a closed door presentation is, I'm not questioning why it was done, but how it was done. It feels like they didn't even bother to check credentials on these people, just how in hell does that guy pass as a "journalist"? How will this guy reach a "bigger audience"? Come on...
And sorry for expecting a dev to keep the fans up to date through a blog or through social media, like most game studios, instead of giving all these exclusives to magazines and whatnot. I'm not asking for 45 minute presentations with free beer or to be invited to their studio, just that I'd like to hear new info straight from the people who make the game. Is it more expensive to pamper to all these journalists or to have a blog where you can write something every now and again to the fans, having a more direct interaction, and most of all, a more personal one?
Do you consider the person that posted the video you linked as a proper gaming journalist?AgentBlue said:I have to call you out on this again. Bottom row, third from the left, is that the time altering UI? Is it new or is it just me?
Also, horse mask.
Ah yes, I looked it up, it is from the Xbox version. Sorry.MM360 said:The UI is from The Witcher 2 actually.
I will take your word for it: there's one dubious media professional in a pool of I-don't-know-how-many-but-surely-plentiful journalists.Kinl3y said:Do you consider the person that posted the video you linked as a proper gaming journalist?
EDIT:
Upon further inspection that guy is just a shitty let's player, need I say more? Look at his average views, that guy will sure impact how Witcher 3 is viewed. Think of all the fans he will bring in!
I do not doubt there were qualified people in there, I also do not doubt there were unqualified people in there. I merely expressed my dislike, not much point on going on about it, I admit.I will take your word for it: there's one dubious media professional in an pool of I-don't-know-how-many-but-surely-plentiful journalists.
And the point is valid. Although a written word every now and again, maybe accompanied by a picture or something, wouldn't hurt either, instead of giving all they have to press. The point still holds: CDProjeckt thinks the demo is not for public consumption as of now. While the disadvantages are pretty obvious, how would CDProjekt' PR strategy benefit from releasing even a shorter version of the demo at this stage?

He was invited at the E3 presentation and he must be a journalist or something.Kinl3y said:Quote from the guy that uploaded the video Agent Blue shared:
"already been there and fought the Luchun. Wasn't that hard"
So this dickwad got to see a 45 min presentation while the fans got a measly trailer. Awesome.
Forget that Gothic 3 and 4 exists they are disgrace for Gothic series . Start with 2 with expansion, controlls are good but you need to practice. If you finish it go for first one IMO it has unmatched setting, lore and story for the first time controlls may be awkward but easy to goet used to. Then difference between European and american rpg will bi preatyy clear for you.sidspyker said:This is kinda offtopic, but I've wanted to try Gothic but I've heard mixed things about it since...ever.
Gothic 4 is supposed to be pretty meh.
G2 has "bad" combat controls"
Where should I start?
American games in general are pretty meh tbh....it's mostly EU pushing the boundaries.Blady said:Forget that Gothic 3 and 4 exists they are disgrace for Gothic series . If you are going to start from gothic 2 you will be really confused cuz you missed the plot of the first game, its like watching the second matrix movie before the first one...sidspyker said:American games in general are pretty meh tbh....it's mostly EU pushing the boundaries.
Anyway, thanks I'll give it a shot!
For gothic 1 no,for gothic 2 there is the Night of the raven addon(devs),its much harder than gothic 2,it adds new characters,a big new interesting location and story and lot of other staff, but its not recommended if you didnt play original gothic 1-2,the addon is really unforgiving.sidspyker said:Need I be aware of some mods or community fixes that are essential?
Yes! YES! I missed her!emperorzorn said:Roach confirmed.
Thanks for all the advice.Alextyc1 said:For gothic 1 no,for gothic 2 there is the Night of the raven addon(devs),its much harder than gothic 2,it adds new characters,a big new interesting location and story and lot of other staff, but its not recommended if you didnt play original gothic 1-2,the addon is really unforgiving.
For gothic 3 if you want there is a community patch, its a must cuz the game is buggy as hell.
Also save really often and in different save slots in any of the gothic games, they are buggy and may crash and even corrupt your saves...from exp
If you like these games try risen games later too.
The question did cross my mind.Alextyc1 said:So it seems that all the wallpapers we got had another purpose too, which is to choose between them for gamescom postcards(i hope they can be shipped).
Anyway you think we will get another wallpaper(its kinda predictable),soundtrack or maybe both?
