KotOR 2 - TSLRCM restoration mod completed!

After long years of wait a major mod for a great game but sadly maimed product come to an end. It is ready ladies and gents. Knights of the Old Republic 2 Full Restoration Mod is finally here with the content reflecting exactly the vision behind Obsidian's (lobotomized) masterpiece.

More on the issue you can read from PCGamer's interview with project's lead - Zbigniew Staniewicz (a fellow Polack :salute: )

Here you can download the mod:

The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod

And here's the link to the full list of restored content.

Enjoy :)

Pain. Hunger. Betrayal. I shall experience them once more, and this time my path shall be complete.

Modders fucking rock, for all the talk of gamer entitlement and back seat developing thrown around nowadays, these dudes are the heart of the industry in my opinion.

Um, since English isn't your native tongue, you might want to know that "Polack" is usually considered derogatory; the neutral English word meaning "person from Poland" is "Pole." ;)

I knew it, but consider this...

this is how you actually pronounce our nationality in Polish (singular male is in Polish - "Polak")! It's not our fault the English *think* this is derogatory for us.

Besides this is how Poles talk about other Poles in English. :p

This is great! I've long hailed The Sith Lords as one of the most potent role-playing experiences I've had, with truly remarkable characterisation and story. Unfortunately, you soon find out it is a rather buggy game, with a lot of cut content that had to go, simply because Obsidian had to meet an impossible deadline when they were making the game. Reading about all the things that were removed made me feel very grumpy, and I was hoping for an ambitious restoration project just like this one to see the light of day, before I re-visit the game once more.

Thanks for sharing!

Ah, it's a shame my KOTOR games don't want to cooperate with my windows 7.

I've played the beta of TSLRCM after many years of waiting for TSLRP... oh Team Gizka, what has become of you?
Well, TSLRCM is the thing that TSLRP never managed to become. I've played the beta last year (or two years ago?... time is fleeting) and it was really great. KotOR II is one of the best games of all time, and another reason for me to hate Bioware and EA, for their decision to go for a stupid MMORPG instead of a sequel to the great KotOR series.

If LucasArts actually allowed Obsidian to finish KotOR 2 properly, it would've easily eclipsed KotOR (1), for me at least. The story felt deep, un-Star Wars-like sort of, and it had one of the best character casts I've seen. I mean, it had Kreia and Kreia is awesome, not to mention the other Sith Lords. To this day I'm still pissed about how LA handled that game; like a cash grab when Obsidian really wanted to make something awesome.

It's nice that folks can enjoy some of the cut stuff, but I think that all the restoration mods that modders have thrown at the game can be nothing more than interpretations of the dev's left resources. I find it really sad that a game has to be 'finished' in such a matter, especially a game as KotOR 2. Add to that, I got the game only on XBox, so I can't even try the mod.

I've heard that LA wants to re-release the KotOR games. I don't see much point in buying them again unless LA finally allowed Obsidian to finish their game properly.

I didn't even want a KotOR 3 anymore after they announced tOR, even moreso when Karpyshyn released his Revan book. There really is no point to it anymore.

Honestly, it also does for me, but only because I can see the wasted potential KotOR 2 has.

You know, if Kotor2 was available on GOG or Steam I would buy it on the spur of the moment, without thinking... but it appears someone is bent on erasing this game from existence.

Yeah, but they are still shipped in 4CDs (someone's too cheap to make a new installer ). And I have no clue why e.g. in my case CD4 refuses to work (no visible scratches whatsoever).

I played this last year, it did improve the broken parts of the game and plot.

Always thought it was a much more interesting game than the original.

Try cleaning it with tooth paste. Sounds weird, I know, but it really works.

Apply the paste, gently rub/clean with a soft, dry rag and then clean with water. Dry it and try if it works.
