I don't know whether it comes up in the books. There's an old superstition, that if you let a ladybug fly away from your hand, the direction it flies is the direction in which you will find your true love.Yman said:Just wondering, is it related to the books (I never read them).
If they start TW3 where TW2 left off, perhaps they will tell us. I can imagine them starting with that scene and having Triss say, "You know, a ladybug means blah, blah, blah," and then we'll know.FringillaVigo said:Still, the whole idea of Fate plays an important part in the books, so I believe the ladybug was here on purpose. But besides all the common symbolism behind the ladybug, I haven't figured out what it is yet.
This. Another plausible explanation may be reflecting sensibility of Geralt, his capability to appreciate the beauty of world and little things regardless of all that crap going on around. Sounds pretty corny, I know. Maybe the mix of both?guynwah said:I don't know whether it comes up in the books. That's how I saw it at first (and liked it). I didn't know the ladybug was regarded as a symbol or sign of something.Galadh said:This. Yeah, there are as many traditions around ladybugs as there are around bees. Ladybugs are sacred to any number of deities and culture heroes. They bring good luck and good weather (and killing one brings bad luck). You can make wishes on them. One that walks on your hand is "measuring it for wedding gloves", and one that flies off your hand is flying in the direction of your true love.KnightofPhoenix said:That's how I saw it at first (and liked it). You are a twisted, cruel personjjavier said:Its a shame that we didn't get a QTE to crush the lady bug ...
I wouldn't think so. They're not shapeshifters, and both are far away. But I think the ladybug is leading Geralt to Yennefer, or a sign that he has set his mind on going to her.wildbill5150 said:Could the ladybug be yen or ciri?
