Latest notes of The Witcher!

We are really proud to present you next part of very high notes given to The Witcher around the world. This time we concentrated on The United Kingdom, Germany, Norway and Czech Republic.Yougamers.com (UK)- 87% Gamesxtreme.net (UK) – 90% “This is one game that I can truly say deserves to be the best PC RPG of the year, even though 2007 is almost over, if not that then the best PC RPG period.”Total Video Games (UK) – 80% “Engaging and thought provoking throughout with a rich gameworld that is effortlessly layered, The Witcher matches the style and substance typically associated with a Bioware RPG - perhaps the finest recommendation we can make.”IGN.com (US) – 85% “It combines some entertaining and fast-paced combat with a well realized world and pretty decent story”Spieletester.com (DE) – 86% Eurogamer.de (DE) – 8/10 PC Action (DE) – 83%Zocker-Heaven (DE) – 11/12Konsolen-World.de (DE) – 86% PC Games.de (DE) – 83% Gamereactor.dk (DK) - 8/10 ”It’s an elegant and generous role-playing game, ambitiously served by people that obviously love the genre, and that love shines through the end product.”Adressa.no (NO) - 5/6 “The most eye-catching thing about The Witcher is the graphics. They’re some of the most beautiful ever delivered in the RPG genre – Oblivion included.”Level7.nu (NO) - 9/10 “The atmosphere, the brutal fights and the elements of magic make this a brilliant action game that won’t leave many gamers disappointed.”PC Gamer (NO) - 87%”Even if the graphics maintain a very high standard, you become more than impressed by the environments, which feel very well-done … Familiar but still modern fantasy.”Gamepark.cz (CZ) – 92% Bonusweb.cz (CZ) – 82% LEVEL (CZ) – 90%Moreover, two popular US websites published flattering reviews of The Witcher:Kotaku.com“I love The Witcher. Well, I love most of The Witcher. The story line, the combat, the characters, the environments...I love just about every aspect of the game."Shacknews.com“Give Geralt a spin for a few hours, and you might be surprised, as I was, to find yourself saying, "This is the first PC RPG I've really enjoyed since..."

Gamereactor.dk would be Denmark.I agree completely with the high praise. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to play a game like this that isn't made just for the kids. Gfx, story and gameplay aside, the icing on the cake is the sex, language and endless partying. No holds barred! 9.5/10. :)

i don't like a fantasy setting and the typical Mage, Elv, Dwarf, Soldier cliche.i don't like RPGs cause their combat is flawed, imo it should not even occur or run totally automatic.but TheWitcher has exactly the RIGHT balance. I like the combat, you have to prepare for fights and special monstersand the story is mature as in - morally ambigous and grey - and not as in - boobs, lol.

The Witcher deserves the high scores it's been getting, the combat system even on Easy can nail you if you don't prepare with the right alchemy or you make a tactical error. I like that.

Greatnes knows no boundaries. Europe, the States, heck the moon would give it great reviews if a lick of honesty was in thier bones. The wait was well worth it.

Good scores, but why did Oblivion score higher? It's not a patch on this game.

I ain't played Witcher yet......But Oblivion was BethSoft's most stable game made, right out the box -- unlike Daggerfall (which is still quite broken) and Morrowind. Not only that, but Oblivion was also an amazing Action/RPG game.

I've had no stability issues or crashes with the Witcher at all. But it's obvious from talking to some folk out there, they have...that's the very nature of PC gaming though. It's good to see the developers released patches quickly and with a few tweaks to the inventory (auto sort for example) and a toggle for auto-save it'll be even better, these are only tiny issues compared to some games like Hellgate London that constantly BSoD on my colleagues PC.I'd also definitely second a walk key as well, for QTS mode *grin*

I loved daggerfall, morrow wind was so-so, but oblivion jsut killed the mood with its auto match monster toughness to you scheme. Gaining levels is suppossed to make you feel tougher not the same or even worse now every freaking thing has best armor and such... hundres/thousands of quests feeling the exact same < than even a few feeling different. I like having trouble fighting new monsters and later them being easier and easier. With oblivion it felt you were fighting the same three types over and over (melee, monster, or ranged) the same exact toughness each time since as you got tougher they did the same amount on the most part.I enjoy the witcher much better than oblivion, I actually feel like I'm accomplishing something. IMHO The Witcher even with some of the issues mentioned should be much higher than oblivion.
